You'd be surprised at the amount of people that think that the Colts don't stand a chance against the Patriots.

Do the Colts have a chance? Sure. Is it likely anyone is going to stop the Pats this year? Sure doesn't seem like it. Can't blame people for picking the Pats, they just seem to score at will in every single game. And I hate everything and anything Boston.

Regarding ESPN, they're terrible. Their Monday Night Football "comedy acts" are atrocious and not nearly entertaining. I don't trust John Kruk's analysis any further than I can throw him. Anyone who thinks they are just pro-East Coast are partially correct, it's more like they are pro Boston. ESPN is based up there, they honestly don't care about anything outside Boston unless it involves trashing the Yankees. You might say "but look at all the coverage about Joe Torre!" well of course, it's every Red Sox fans dream. Don't even get me started on Steve "I couldn't GM a little league team" Phillips.

Get a map. Bristol, CT is closer to NYC than Boston. Assuming you don't live in New England, I'll fill you in: Connecticut has a majority of NY sports fans.

I live in New Jersey, and I spent 4 years at Uconn so I know what I'm talking about. ESPN HQ may be closer to NYC if you drew a straight line but that doesn't mean jack. Red Sox fans (even before 2004) outnumbered Yankee fans there by about 4:1, it wasn't even close. I had to search out people who were from NY to find another Yankee fan anywhere. I'm sure it's a lot worse now with all the bandwagoners. If you really don't think ESPN is pro-Boston then I'm not sure you're watching the right station.

The Pats are getting the coverage like this because Randy Moss is a straight up freak of nature. Did you see those 2 catches? People talk about how certain recievers you can just throw the ball anywhere around them and they'll catch it-- with Moss this is not an exaggeration *at all*.

Don't you guys remember what a huuuuuuuueg deal Culpepper to Moss was not so long ago? If they'd had an o-line and a defense along with Bennet, they'd have had a legitimate chance to go undefeated then too. No combination of rb1, wr1, qb1 have had anywhere near the kind of total speed and athletic ability that team did, ever. (That Chris Carter guy wasn't bad either heh)


We'll see what happens, I do agree that if the Colts can't beat them, nobody will. I'm gonna say though I think the Colts can. Both offenses are pretty ridiculous, I think Indy has the better pass defense and run offense while NE has the better run defense and passing offense. I think the passing is likely to be pretty damn even, giving the edge to the Colts due largely to what I think will be a pretty big game for Kenton Keith. (18ish carries, 90+ yds and 1-2 td)


oh one more thing: This game probably has the background to be like the most hyped game ever, provided they're both still undefeated. These are pretty much the 2 greatest coaching minds of our time, with one being an offensive master and the other defensive, with undoubtably the best teams either of them have coached. On the other hand, Steve Young is kind of right-- the only way this game *really* matters is if it becomes a tiebreaker for home field in the playoffs. They're both winning their divisions, and they're going to be the 1&2 seeds regardless of this game.

If the Skins had an oline and some more offense, they'd beat the Pats this week. I think this'll be Brady's worst game of the season, which still means 3 TDs (but multiple INTs).

Pats-Colts AFC Championship is what I'd like to see. They should move one of those teams into the NFC for shits and giggles, so the NFC would have a chance in the superbowl.

regardless of being rookies or not, NONE of them have faced a COMBO with that much speed and power. welker and stallworth have been abusing people on slant routes and it should be interesting to see if taylor and landry can do anything over the top to stop it. a big hit can take a player out of the game mentally and im pretty excited to see if that can happen to this trio. landry is a sub 4.4 runner and taylor just above, im hard pressed to think of another duo that has enough speed to hang with these guys. also it will be interesting to see if they try to match taylor up with moss one on one at any point, taylor's rookie year they did this and it worked surprisingly well, he even out jumped moss to break up a play over the top.

welker also spent his career as a dolphin playing against rodney harrison twice a year, he is one of the leagues big hitters. regardless i still think its a fun matchup there is going to be tons of speed wizzing around out there someone on either side is liable to get lit up. its not like i want the redskins to come out on top in this game, the last thing i need is all of washington DC running around talking about how their secondary was able to perform well against the patriots. its bad enough constantly hearing about how they have a top three defense.
