PS3 80GB $499 WHAT YOU SAY

I was reading the reviews for DW6, everyone is saying its the best DW so far, you can control each unit as you wish and have them follow you and you give them commands, or have them operate catapults, etc as you charge in or do w/e.

it damn well better be environment interactive. If I send enemies flying in to a bunch of crates, they better break. I want guys falling of cliffs and plunging into rivers.

A 40GB model for $399 sounds reasonable and much more enticing for me. I'd just like to know how much I may be hampering myself spacewise if I went this route. Are there alot of things you'd need that much drive space for other than downloadable games/demos and movie trailers?

I know the PS3 has usb ports, so could I ever get an additional external USB harddrive if I found myself running out of space?

Some games install data to hard drive so eventually space will be an issue, but at the same time you can delete data for games you don't play anymore. As for external hdd's, from what I've read they should work fine. Can also just replace the internal hdd with a larger one when needed.

My thought exactly. I also have Swap Magic for mostly JP games and that most likely will never work with PS3.

Yeah, you should be able to use any after market external HD you want with the ps3, and you can get those pretty cheap. Like, I just used google and put in usb external HD's and this is one that came up as the first choice http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid ... DT&cat=HDD 250 GB for 109.99 (pretty sure you can get them cheaper than this as well) usb port HD.

"Oh hey, I just got PS3/360 for 500$! great deal right?" "Psh I guess, but didnt you know they just released a new SKU, its a smaller model, is 100$ BC, doesnt burn up, is faster, more powerful, has a bigger hard drive, better HD output and more??"

With that said I am still happy I got my model when the 60 gig was at 500 since it is plenty of space for fucks sake. Secondly it has 100% backwards compatibility with upscaling. Thirdly, Motorstorm is not even that good of a game, it was fun for 1 or 2 nights for a couple hours then got repetitive since like only 2 courses in the entire game are good.

I think the 60 gig is gonna end up being a collectors item few years down the line as well bc people are gonna want that backwards compat.

***EDIT*** Nevermind, I saw the quote in the Console Wars thread. That's lame. I'd rather have the BC because I never owned a PS2 and there are a bunch of games I'd like to play.

I still see plenty of 60GB systems left at my local Target. They're not as hard to find as people might expect.

We've been out of the 60 gigs for awhile, and as for the usb ports... lol why does that matter? The first gen ps3 had 4 usb ports, why does it matter the cheap one only has 2 lol. I mean... it isnt like you need the usb port for much when you can just use bluetooth devices.
