Might be rambling on, sorry in advanced.
So last night, upgraded to a new motherboard....new processor (Intel Quad 2.6 ghz) and a new video card (GForce 6800 GTS 512 MB). Hooked everything up no problems, installed windows xp...drivers the usual stuff. I then noticed, that my case was getting kind of hot (internally) so I rechecked my fans, and turns out I forgot to plug power into the graphics card (grr.... but even with power not plugged in the video looked fine).
Once that was plugged in, my computer would turn on for a bit and just shut itself off. Since my PSU was 450w, I figured it was just not enough power for this equipment. I grabbed a 600w PSU while picking everything up, so I install it with no problems.... and go to turn on the computer, and it powers on with no video at all (graphic card fan is going normally, just no video) so I start fooling around with it, with no results. I then think my graphics card got fried somehow, and decide to try my old card (PCI-E ATI x700) and I have the same results.
Did I manage to fry my motherboard, or maybe im missing something here?I bought the stuff last night, so I can easily return it..... would I be better off returning the Mobo only, the graphics card only...or both?
*Cliff notes* New Mobo, New Graphics Card, New Processor....worked fine, until I installed new PSU and now no video to display. Also, the HDD indicator light stays on full time now.
