I think I should move out of East County
in riverside, and there was fuckin boulder on the 60 today. wtf 80+ mph winds.
During the last fires, I lived up at where the 15 and Ted Williams met, just North of Scripps Ranch. Since then, I have moved over to Pacific Beach where, this morning at least, it was almost totally unnoticable. However, at work in La Jolla right now, it seems like all of the smoke getting pushed out to the ocean is congregating at the cove, giving us a lovely yellowish orange light and a strong smell of smoke.
Yesterday there were two different fires around 11am-ish. I woke up today at 8:30 and there were 7. Like above, La Jolla has a nice orangey glow. So much ash is falling (such bad air quality) UCSD cancelled classes for the day. Judging by the strength of the wind and the weather the past few weeks there's a good chance the ash will keep falling till tomorrow as the fires burn out.
Not in SD but my GF going thru same thing now in Valencia. Said she had same shit happen 3 yrs ago at a different house in same area, also.
Yesterday there was a small fire between her two parent's houses. Luckily they put that one out. But there's another one not too far awayLast night reports on that area (Canyon Country) said the fire should last about 5 days. . .
hmm, heard on radio today the one in irvine/SD were cases of arson...
edit: confirmed, http://www.knbc.com/news/14392969/detail.html
No classes for me today at SDSU![]()
Tuesday classes at UCSD just cancelled. The closest fire to where I live in La Jolla is in Mira Mesa, but Solana Beach just got it's evacutation warning.
I hope all that smoke doesn't blow over here again. ~_~
250,000 people evacuated already...damn. And its supposed to still get worse from now, as the wind probably won't be dying down 'til around Wednesday. Definitely glad I live in PB, work in La Jolla...sorry to anyone that lives further East.![]()
Word on the streets is that the ashes are from peopleOriginally Posted by CMMeast

My school also canceled classes 2nd day in a row because of the high winds + arrowhead fire smoke fuckin up visibility on the road.
I live in San Bernardino and at the school that I teach at we could see the fire burning on the hill right next to us. I was hoping they would cancel school, but they didn'tAs I was driving home (on the 215 south) I could literally feel the fire burning from inside my car from the side of the freeway. Kinda freaked me out

Yeah 215 is terrible, went down it going near Inland Center and made the mistake of having my windows down. The smoke smell was horrible.Originally Posted by pohibaba
Edit: Looks like little mountain fire is awful close to my school. Heard the dorms might have to evacuate.
I'm fucked if the Harris fire keeps moving west.
Which it is.
