NEW SIG =)
Direction really doesn't make a difference, promise ya. It doesn't fit with my personal experience and it makes no sense mechanically.
I know it's an old, dead horse, but I think it's interesting that each direction actually does have an element attached to it. (The star charts are one example. And a clear, night sky shows the different colored stars on the exact compass points). There's two explanations for this: Either they're there for graphical color (like the color of the moon reflecting what day it was), or it has something to do with something related to elements (and, the only thing I can think of is crafting, because spell casting makes even less sense).
Also, I am too lazy to search for other threads on this topic, so my apologies if this was already (probably was) stated. It just makes sense that direction does help, as does the day of the week, because they would be very easy variables to put into the "crafting equation" for the programmers.
LET IT DIE AND GO THE FRICK AWAY
No, this was never discussed before, and I'm sure nobody knew that before you mentionned it. You know, in a couple hours people will have forgotten about directionnal crafting, and it will be time to post about it again, and again, and again, and again, and again. And let's do it -----> there.Originally Posted by Edrick

if I nuke facing east will that add an additional 10% dmg to my nukes? I was seriously once asked while soloing at the pudding camp why I always nuke, then turn around to face a different direction while casting? I obviously informed the player it was so I would be facing the direction I was planning on kiting. He asked me 2 more clarifying questions if me turning had anything to do with resist rates & additional damage and ultimately did not seem to believe me and acted like I was hiding some gem of information from him![]()

Direction you are facing does affect resist rates on enfeebling spells. Next time you are fighting Sazuka, face SE (wind direction) before you cast Silence. It won't stick 100% of the time, but you will get less resists facing that direction (more like 75% resisit facing SE then 90%+ facing any other direction..).

Good fucking god people, is it really that hard to spell some names in this game? SUZAKU, not Sazuka.Originally Posted by souleman
Christ, this peeves me like nothing else when people do this in game...it's even worse than things like 'ne1,' 'r u there?' etc. -____-;;;
Considering he was probably so busy spinning in circles ne for dia, west for poison, south for slow, east for para, north for blind, se for haste, ne for refresh, ne for cures, and se for silence combined with the still horrible "75%" resist rate he had to repeat the casts often and did not have time to pay attention to the spelling of the name!Originally Posted by Eraphiel

Because I posted it in another thread, I'll also post this old bit, just for reference -

But otherwise I won't participate further in this age-old debate that is indeed a dead horse.

Well it certainly doesn't work on Suzaku... Maybe he's enfeebling some random JP who was running past...Originally Posted by Eraphiel
Poor Sazuka ; ;
The dead horse just called to say he couldn't stand all that nonsense directionnal bullshit anymore.
Oh and before hanging up the phone, he asked who was Sazuka, too.
Oh god, that Star Trek picture was priceless.
Best. Thread. Ever.
