Whenever I've gone, we always try to do the Hume cause he's total cake if you have two tanks... and even then, that might be over kill. The only danger is EES to the face.

If you got your two NINs, toss in a RDM and you got your low man kill. However, I would recommend 6 people so that you can clear the room of in relatively short order and pop the NM without worry of repops.

Had no real issues fighting Hume as BLU, RDM, NIN, THF. Make sure BLU has haste and just have them spam headbutt. Proc rate is pretty solid.

Like most people have said. 2 Nins and healer can do it. 1-2 bst can do it fairly easy. I have also done it with 2 smn and a rdm. Rdm could be 41 cause he is really only there to keep smn mp up. Also only really talking about hume and mithra nm.

P.S. People will prob say BS on this but gonna say it anyway. Done this many times. Went 1/15 on my belt. Did many pick up pts with most going about 2/10 on drop. Did it with my LS and first time we did it just killed it and went 1/12. Went back and made sure a thf killed it. When we went back and did thf kill our rates were 10/12 7/10 6/8 5/6 and 2/4. Those were all on random days and moon phases. Even though SE says thf kill doesn't do anything at least with this NM I personally don't think it is true. GL on getting your belt.

    Re: Low man Swift Belt?

I've trioed the hume easily with a setup of NIN, BRD, and WHM. It's time-consuming, taking about 10 minutes or more per kill, but it's very safe if your NIN is decent. Outside of the threat of EES, the hume is an absolute joke, and I believe that it could be duoed with just NIN+RDM.

On a related note, it is not necessary at all to clear any of the fomors in any of the rooms prior to popping the NM. Fomors, like most undead, do NOT link, and there is no need to worry about any of the fomors linking with the NM while you pull it to camp. You can easily have someone pop the NM with sneak on, and run back out the door and onto the steps before losing sneak and aggroing any of the other fomors in the room. You'll also have plenty of space to keep the Fomors both inside the room and outside in the hallways from blood-aggroing.

The only time that Fomors "link" is when they are in a "party" together. It's not even a true linkage either, it's more like if you agro any of them in the party, then you've aggroed the entire group of them. These "parties" of Fomors will also respawn at the same time as an entire group, even though each of the inidividual members died at different times. I think their ToD is based on when the last member of the group died.

This is completely true. I have acctully faught a "party" of fomors and had one depop. The whole party repoped as a normal mob would have if you had it despawn even though we killed one of the fomor "party" members.

When you did it with the 2 smn did you carby it down or burn it?

My friends and I have done this many times with RDM DRK NIN NIN THF, and sometimes another RDM comes along if he's not busy. We only do the hume or the mithra but the fights are pretty easy, especially with 2 NIN tanks.

being 0/17 and a friend 0/11 I believe? We're going to start duoing this as NIN NIN WHM or RDM until we get, I read the one post really advocating THFage but I'd like to hear from others, if we're going to low man this w/o a THF, are we going to be wasting our time?

Burned it until mp got down to about 150-200 then started using carby to get mp back up then used other avatars. Mainly used fenrir. Fight took about 10-15 minutes. Only did hume with 2 smn and a rdm but don't see mithra being that much of a issue. Never faught the galka or taru. faught the elvaan twice both times with bad results.

I would recommend having a THF as well, last LS run we did just this past Sunday without any thieves we went 2/13 and there was one time we did something like 1/9 without a THF but it's been a long time so I can't remember exactly. Usually when we have at least one THF the drop rate is close to 50%~.
I'm not an advocate of THF kill though, just have a THF in every party if you go with an alliance and make sure they actually do hit the mob and don't just whiff there naked ("I have no cap gear guyz!").

    Re: Low man Swift Belt?

I personally went 1/26 on Balor the whore... Waffles can attest to that... He had to listen to me bitch about it.

But it is definately possible to low man them with BST's. I had a group of 3 BST's together and we would 2hr the Blubber Eyes and go to it. We were able to kill all of them even the taru with the 3 Hectaeyes. (This was before the mobs would regen on their own and with the Stay command.) So if you know some BST's it's really easy to kill them... The only problem is having to get the damn hate and farming the codex every single time.

Seriously, bring a THF with ya. My friends went 0/11 without a THF and we were like 2/5 with a one in the party.

Hume is the way to go. A bst can solo. 2hr an Eye and drag the hume to the enterance.

If you don't have a skilled bst friend, nin/nin/rdm can easily duo. Just bounce hate back and forth and you should be fine.

I would still recommend having a thf kill the mob. SE says that thf killing the mob does nothing. I do not know if this is true or not but I have had a thf there on at least 80% of the runs and our drop rate went a lot higher when a thf got the final hit on it. Is there a chance that the drop rate would have been the same if a thf didn't kill it? I would say of course. But really? What do you have to lose if you have a thf there for everyone to disenage or turn away when the mob is at 2% and just have the thf get TP then sata WS someone for the kill? Only thing I can see is a lose of 3-4 more shiheis. IMO from going 1/15 on this it is worth the tiny bit of extra effort to have all melees and mages to stop nuking and burn a few more shiheis for a thf to kill for a chance of a high drop rate.

I've tanked all of them as either NIN or PLD with no problems.

Like others have already mentioned. the Elvaan is the only one that really gives decent NINs any problems. PLD with full Shield Merits does very well against him though.

Does your fomor hate get reset upon trading the codex or does it get reset after the death of the nm?

I do know that if it is indeed reset upon trading, it isn't reset to rank 1 hate (no aggro).

Hate gets reset on trading the codex. It does not completely reset your hate. Some people think it does. But you can pop the nm warp out and you will still agro fomors. If you had 0 hate you would not agro them.

    edit. Ment to say this
Its not like you pop the nm your hate gets completely reset to 0 then killing the nm puts you back in the hate que for fomor hate. You will still have some hate after just poping the nm.

    Re: Low man Swift Belt?

We do Swift belt with low numbers all the time. NIN MNK/NIN WHM RDM (THF, RNG, SAM etc would join in for their belt) is our usual set, at least when we did it. We did Mithra and Hume all the time due to linkshell composition though. As long as you have at least one person that can offtank hume in case EES is slightly more powerful/earlier than expected you'll do fine.

Guys please remember that merits mean nothing in this fight. It's a level 50 capped area and as such your merits are not active.

We did the Hume several times last week with a small alliance of about 9. It went quite smoothly, with the odd death here and there. No wipes. Only did the Elvaan once and it went fine. Was warned not to pop the Tar00 and we heeded that advice.
