Wow, clearly I play that game too much. When you said 'farmer' I thought you meant 'goldfarmer' and I was like "I would have thought there were more WoW players than goldfarmers anyway."

i didn't expect there to be that many farmers left in the US anyway. am under the impression that a lot of the manual labor has been replaced by technology.

Farming would be much more common if we still had slaves.

No, that's not racist, they don't have to be black. It would be a larger industry though, lots of jobs, more variety in reality.

That is correct, but coming from Farming Country, I'll explain it a little different. There is more corporate farming than it it is technology causing the lower number of farmers.

Technology has certainly sped up and extended the time period that farmers can be in the field, but I don't believe it has forced out the farmers. The bankers are for that.

Maybe there may not be a lot of farmers compared to farmland. But, when I sit there looking at farmland for nearly the entire 2 1/2 hour drive to football games 7 Saturdays a year, it makes their presence felt. Then again, I'm from Indiana.
