Anyone on this board telling anyone else on this board to grow up is pretty freaking hilarious...

Yeah, dude went postal for a bit, but perhaps he's sick of telling people to lern2read and took a more direct approach.

If you ignore the fucks, basically what he is saying is true... but to me, I don't mind them tweaking things a bit to make them better in the end. As long as they get it right in a reasonable amount of time, it's all good.

If you think Campaign(e) will be perfect out of the box, just go kill yourself now... cause your expectations are too high.

No, what he is saying is opinion, not "truth." You are only continuing his misrepresentation with another misrepresentation. Some people hate camping Kings and bring legitimate complaints, some people dislike other things, and they discuss it with the proper rhetoric.

Just remember kids, having a positive outlook on this is justifiable cause for suicide! The emo kids have been doing it wrong for years!

Ok, well... I didn't say it was an absolute truth, but to satisfy your need for absolutes, I will agree with you that it is an opinion. However, I interpretted his opinion as an endorsement of the thought that Salvage, Besieged, and Einherjar were not a suitable finished product upon release.

I'm compelled to think that more people than not would agree that all those activities enjoy a much better implementation as a result of tweaks.

I'm merely advising people to temper expectations beforehand... perhaps I'm more laid back than most, because I don't expect absolute perfection at every turn.

Honestly, I think everyone already takes things with a grain of salt. Its why almost everyone has some strain of cynicism. That being said, you really aren't accomplishing anything by trying to rain on the parades of those that are getting excited about the expansion content.

Perhaps you are just generally pessimistic, and other people are optimistic. Even the optimists don't expect perfection, in fact they are likely to be more realistic about the content than pessimists. The point is that it looks cool now, that doesn't mean that I think that Jesus has been brought on as the new lead programmer...

I appreciate the attempt to try and delve into my psyche... >.>, but I'm actually an optimist myself and rather realistic about what to expect.

I'm excited about the expansion myself and this new battle system looks cool, even if all we have now is a JP translation of a Scan in a mag...

But hey, you're either gonna get the NATTs (Negative All The Time) or the PATTs (Positive All The Time) ... there's very few in the middle ground and all of them can be annoying depending on your perspective.

I can see everyone doing this new event and the Astral Candy being taken on every server because only 100 people showed up on level 30 jobs to leech exp...

My problem with Salvage is that unless you're lucky enough to get a drop, you walk away with absolutely nothing but lost AP and possibly XP, and frankly, it's okay, but not fun enough to do for nothing but a slim chance at something you won't get any use out of until you get the other 2 items.

Just a few crappy drops, or maybe a tiny bit of xp would make it much more appealing to me. Hell they could really spice it up by adding rare AF2 or abjuration drops.

Somewhat agree. It's fun buffing yourself to superpowerful. Just wish there were more level 8's with only 3-400 people so I didn't lag like crazy.

I like it in short bursts, but after like 4-5 I'm burnt out with it and need a month or two before I feel like doing it again.

Salvage is actually one of the best things SE has done in a long time. Why?
    - It's free to enter. (No you don't actually even need any meds at all, except for what you should be taking to any exp PT.)
    - You can go everyday.
    - It takes only a few mins to do an Assault to get enough points to keep going.
    - It can be done with low numbers.
    - It's not too long and not too short.
    - It's not bat shit mental hard, or too easy.
    - It's fun.
    - The rewards are epic.
    - Once you get past the whole I'm naked and helpless at the start, it's really not so bad.
    - the drop rate is worse than dynamis.

3-400... 300-400 short hand... Three to Four hundred if you need any further explanation.

That's why is best to do Salvage with people you trust and static it, it requires the same mindset as if you'd ever plan to upgrade a relic weapon (although cheaper and way "easier" than that), I look at the AP spent as towards the whole group goals... plus it's hella fun than... let's say Dynamis.

As for Besieged, yeah I find it fun, when the lag is acceptable (2-400 people), and a nice way to recap exp when I'm missing just a few hundred points.

It seems to be a mispelling of the English word campaign, or the the French word campagne (countryside).

That's debateable, in Dynamis you kill 100s of mobs each of them have a chance to drop, Salvage you might be only killing one mob that could drop the item you need. I think if you average that out Dynamis would probably still come out worse. Oh I also left out there's no 2hr wait for Salvage waiting for 18-30+ people to run somewhere, not be AFK, and get organised into PTs.

Not a misspelling, a transliteration. Japanese does not have a way to represent Campagne directly, and the Japanese reading is actually Canpanie (Cannes-pun-e-eh).

    Re: New Famitsu Scan

run to run salvage is much much worse. (my group is ~0/70* on 35 droppers, that's from a little under 2 dozen 35 runs across three zones) you -never- blank 24 dynamis runs in a row; I can't remember the last time no relic armor dropped in a dynamis run.

and you're still killing hundreds of mobs, the fact that only one or two can drop the item you want is not a feature.

edit: hell, salvage is worse week to week too - you can do seven runs in a week in salvage and still be lucky to get 1 35 in that week; in two dynamis (the most you can do in a week) you can expect at least 3 AF and are more likely to get 6-10.

*counting ramparts that show at least one nm as '1' and ramparts that show no nm's as '0'

Salvage gear is also useable by 3-4 times as many jobs, which is very relevant in todays multi-job climate.

    Your Salvage needs more THF.

    Anyway.

Salvage is easily the best thing I've seen implemented in this game since Oct'2003.
