Salvage drop rates seem low due to the lower amount of kills by droppable mobs in the zone.

You go to dynamis, you kill 300 mobs that all have the opportunity to drop the item you're looking for.

Salvage = 1 or 2 for the 35s. 1 for 25s. Drop rates in Salvage are MUCH better than Dynamis.

If it's anything like besieged I hope they put some time and consideration into lag issues. The amount of lag in besieged, made it almost unplayable for a span of time, and it's still frustrating. With outdoors zones being larger and more open maybe it will fair better.

Awesome, sounds fun. Like a majority of people have already said, I hope they take the lag issue into consideration as well.

    Does not compute.
3-400... 300-400 short hand... Three to Four hundred if you need any further explanation.
I mean there's never that many in Hades Beseiged let alone "only" that many.

TH4 on all but one 35 run. do you propose I bring multiple thiefs?

and you're still killing hundreds of mobs, the fact that only one or two can drop the item you want is not a feature.

edit: hell, salvage is worse week to week too - you can do seven runs in a week in salvage and still be lucky to get 1 35 in that week; in two dynamis (the most you can do in a week) you can expect at least 3 AF and are more likely to get 6-10.

*counting ramparts that show at least one nm as '1' and ramparts that show no nm's as '0'
Salvage gear is also useable by 3-4 times as many jobs, which is very relevant in todays multi-job climate.
right, that doesn't mean that drops should be 3-4x more rare. (I could see an argument for making them slightly rarer since you have a smaller group going in; I get that. I don't want to see 3-10 35's every run. it would be nice to see more than 3 in a year, and at the rate my group is going we're going to be lucky to see our first within six months.)

and again- I'm not talking about per kill rates. I'm talking about how you can do salvage 4 days a week for three months and have nothing but missing AP, a fistful of people 2/3 and dozens of trash lot 15's to show for it, when in three months of dynamis you've probably gotten at least 60 relic pieces. (26 runs, a mere 2.3 AF per run; my ls average is over 3.3)

the gear is great; it really is, the event is fun (otherwise most people wouldn't do it: see einherjar) none of that is incompatible with the effort:reward curve being off. (even einherjar would spit up a 15k ampoule item around month four for most participants - regardless of what else didn't drop in the treasure chests)

When new NM's are announced which are difficult to kill and drop decent items I'll get excited (or maybe I'm just silly for hoping for such things after the past two expansions?).
i do besieged just for ISP. Thats about it!

    Re: New Famitsu Scan

    So yea, Campaign.

It seems to mostly take place is field areas, all over the world. Not only will this allow people to jump into it more easily when a group attacks, we wont see the same kind of congestion we do in Al Zahbi (well, probably for the first few attacks, but it'll be severe for a shorter amount of time.) What I'm really curious about is whether this will allow for stealthy, hit & run tactics of varying party sizes to slowly weaken a base or if it'll be the same all-or-nothing Zergfest Besieged is. Really hope it's the former, the idea of sneaking into a base, fucking shit up, and getting out unscathed is hot.

Hmmm Campagnie isn't a french word.
It seems to be a mispelling of the English word campaign, or the the French word campagne (countryside).
Not a misspelling, a transliteration. Japanese does not have a way to represent Campagne directly, and the Japanese reading is actually Canpanie (Cannes-pun-e-eh).

My shells have done Dynamis for less then a year (since December when it was first released, but we didn't really get started for real until January/early February due to being an EU group, and thus hard to find decent people), and we've got 23 total 35 drops. Assuming we don't get any more 35's at all until December, that's still 1 35 every 2,5 week. Sure, that's still not the same amount as Dynamis AF2 drops, but the gear is both better and usable by more jobs. tbh, I think the drop rate is just fine as it is, especially considering how much fun Salvage is. So its completely bearable.

Definite Besieged fan. And this looks like fun, too. And it's sounding a lot more like what I expected from Conquest- victory reduces the beastman forces, failure increases them...only it's the past having an effect on the future.

Fortress Giddeus would be kinda awesome to see, though I'd hate to lose to the birdbrains. Getting to take down hordes of beastmen + Shadow Lord elites = Twinkling Treant fight taken over 9000.

compare drops per hour instead of drops per mob. while the latter is true it's a deceiving and not comparable statistic.

    ---

i don't hate Besieged but i don't really do it, if Campaign is like Besieged which i think it will be, i'll probably try it a few times and never touch it again. don't really have a problem with that as i'm sure it'll appeal to a lot of other people still.

Just for fun, I will add further confusion to this!

Champagne is a countryside district in France! Its where all the Champagne is made.

consider yourself fortunate. my group (among others I'm sure) has a much lower drop rate than that. (we'd have 6 or 7 even at your conservative estimated pace; at the rate you're actually getting drops we would have over a dozen). we have 0.

0 35's since july is not exactly a bearable pace (although we don't go 7 a week, just 3) how often does your group go?

I 2nd that. Limbus is pretty much the best run in the game. Its major weak point is lacking of godly gear for nin/mnk/sam/pup. however, they (except pup) do get VERY nice af+1 pieces and some coins for gils.

And a company from the Champagne countryside would be une compagnie de la campagne champagnoise. I'm growing convinced that it's something boring like "company", and at this point we're just involved in an anglo-franco-japanese linguistic circle-jerk.
