I thought it was her telling him to take the dog or something? The butterfly was brought up a lot, in the ride to the helicopter, when he was picking up corn with the dog, tattoo on the woman, when the alpha male was trying to break in. I always thought it would have to do something more with the butterfly than his daughter always talking about it but meh.

It was a good movie and I somewhat wished I read the book before seeing it.

I learned to always go to the 3-4pm showing to avoid all the stupid kids.

I'm surprised more people didn't pick up on this. It was amazingly obvious considering when he looked at the butterfly his daughters voice said "look it's a butterfly daddy". Not to mention in the SUV she put her hands together and said "Look its a butterfly daddy" and she also did this before the helicopter she was in took off.

I also thought it was pretty obvious, no offense to anyone ,_, Even the simple stuff like when the butterfly flies past the dog's nose, and she follows it... Learned long ago that GOOD movies don't have 'pointless' stuff, everything is in there for a reason. It makes the 'pointless' stuff actually stand out more, cuz you see it, think nothing of it, but then figure, hey, when will this come back up later, making it stand out all that much more when it comes time.

The most annoying thing in this entire movie was the fucking camerawork. I can't tell you how many times I was trying to read some thing in the background that was panned past too fast, or the rage instilled by the cameraman thinking it would be an awesome idea to bob like a fucking pigeon while following Will Smith around walking. Not even running.

And yeah, the cracks from the lead vampire ramming the plexiglass made a butterfly pattern. Was like, two wings with antenna sticking out of the top.

yeah, think the "leader" guy was really angry at him cause he took his female. and he only said they were only getting worse as far as being not human because for whatever reasons (some already stated) didnt see the human qualities in them. The super crackers looked very organized and smart to me, just had the preserve the colony even at the cost of my life system going.

I heard Arnold Swarzenagger was going to be the actor to play Nevil before they went with Will. My god I doubt the movie would have been anywhere near as good.

If people don't know spoilers are coming by now they're retarded.

Anyways, the utilities working after so long, I can't explain that. I also can't explain why there were even deer on a flipping island. But he obviously worked out and scavenged for a lot of food.
EDIT: Good call on the generators.

Since he was in the military i'm sure he had some type of physical regimen and decided to keep with it.

Mental-health. He obviously wasn't all there. I think he did a fantastic job of portraying what would happen by yourself after 3-5 years.

Proficiency of firearms. Military training sticking with him?

Immunity. He explained that 1% (or was it 5%?) created a natural immunity, ~70% died, and the rest turned into the dark-walkers.

Overall, a fantastic movie, and all I was expecting was a good Dark Knight trailer lol.
