It's a cute idea, but like others have said, very few people actually decorate their house for visual appeal. Most stick in enough furniture for 80 storage and getting a particular moghancement and leave it at that. Not much to show off.

I try to decorate my house to look nice while still giving practical moghancements and 80 storage, but its much more difficult. I'd love to get to show off my house layout to others outside of taking pictures, but its not like people are going to really visit once this is implemented.

This is just another hostel, something SE is tossing in to beef up the features list of the expansion, but not something that will be heavily used outside of curiosity when implemented and cybering. Guess the moogles get entertainment out of all this since they get to watch

I want to know where people get this data. I think a lot of people just assume no one does it because they personally don't, or more likely assume it because it doesn't have a huge effect on the actual meat of the game. People have been asking for this for a while, and I've seen lots of people who like to mess around with their layout. Someone's buying those fish tanks and such after all.

And when people compare it to how dead chocobo raising/racing and the like are, well... Don't you think that was more of a failure on S-E's part? I think a lot of people, Alla crowd or not, looked forward to those features, but the whole raising system was a bore, the racing was an AUTOMATED bore, the chocobos themselves ended up being slower than rentals, and so on and so forth. S-E's really to blame for a lot of this stuff not taking off, I think.

So for me the real question is... how will S-E screw this up? One person allowed in at a time? Trade 2k in gil to obtain a key item "Guest Pass" each time? Have to spend 30 days trading items to a moogle before he can upgrade your Mog House to accommodate guests?

I think you hit it on the nose. If one person doesn't like X, he's going to think no one likes X.

I love decorating my house. I have max storage, the moghancement I need, and it looks good.

Guests in moghouses... I guess thats a good indicator that a lot of new furnishings will be introduced.

Should need some coffee tables, maybe a kitchen sink, heck for that much how about a hot tub.

The main reason I'd care about this is if they included the ability for characters on the same content ID to enter one another's mog houses and get items.
That would mean that you could simply choose to enter the mog house of one of your mules to get gear, or grab unused Rare/EX items from your main to store elsewhere.

Otherwise I don't see much of a reason to get excited. "Wow, you sure have a lot of dressers" "Yeah, 7 storage each, neat huh?". Unless as mentioned, they're planning to make furniture that does something more.

No, I mean something more than a cosmetic change. For example, if they made a piece of furniture for crafters that allowed them to recharge Enchanted items. Perhaps you could let a friend come use it. Or they could make a piece of furniture that allows passage to an instanced area, or that could let you accept a temporary level cap to match the level of the owner of the mog house.

I mean, if the just want an area for people to gather and socialize uninterrupted, they've got the teahouse, or outside the Einherjar gate.

I find it interesting that SE seems to prowl the internet for ideas users come up with, and only implement them once someone has worked on it. I think they're going out of their way to one-up the player community, lawl.

But that being said, I'm glad I've actually made my MH look... you know, like an actual home.

I hope they take this as an incentive to change how Mog Houses, Storage, and Moghancements work.

Furnishings that are in place should not take up mog bank/safe space(making Storage a bit more worth it and more space for people, yay).

You should be able to choose your Moghancement out of a list of furnishings that share the most powerful element.

And finally, add some variety in elements, because trying to have my Windurst flag be dominant is ridiculously annoying... stacking a bunch of boxes in the corner makes my house look like shit.

I enjoy that cartoon because the artist draws Galkas in the proportions that I imagine them in. (Except I imagine them with less clothing.)
