It was much worse before...
Used to get mad right after COP came out there was more maintenance and extension than actual game play time.


If you get angry for a lil' extension here and there on a 4 hour maintenance once a month... I wouldn't want to be your friend.

The password requirements change was in a separate POL update yesterday. All we know officially regarding this one is "system upgrades".

Whats funny about that is that you can bypass that...

When you get to the thing where it wants your old password and new password just Right Click > Main Menu and you bypass it...lawl... their coders suck.

But their lawyers are smart! Now, if anyone gets hacked, they can just say that you either gave your info away, or you explicitly and purposefully went out of your way to give yourself a less secure password. And then they can just say "Sorry, there's nothing we can do."

Considering what we pay as a playing group to SE on a monthly basis and the lag that we experience in AUW, i'd expect a whole day of maintenance.... Eve-online manages to cope perfectly well with 32000 players in a graphically/tech complex envieronment on ONE SERVER.....seriously SE need to get their shit together, it's 2007, not 2003.

EVE also has a newer base code. That's one of the things you notice as MMORPGs age. The more you patch into the game, the greater the chance for critical instability. EQ certainly did while I was playing it.

Bingo. They made every reasonable attempt to make people pick secure passwords. If people bypass this system and get brute force hacked down the line it is their own fault now.
