The Crystal War (10/26/2007)

At the behest of Archduke Kam'lanaut of Jeuno, the nations of San d'Oria, Bastok, and Windurst put aside their historical enmities and formed the Allied Forces of Altana. As the isolated nations began sharing information and resources, they gradually developed the infrastructure to plan operations that would span entire continents.
The most significant step towards the execution of cooperative operations was taken during the battle waged in the defense of Jeuno. The retreat of the Beastman Confederate in the face of the three nations' coordinated attacks served to further strengthen the newfound alliance.

It's such a good feeling knowing we killed someone who we win Crytal War thanks to lol

not technically killed, but still...

Yeah he totally didn't orchestrate the whole thing to reach Paradise

I was under the assumption all the Shadowlord did was interrupt the plans of the brothers, and the reason those two bring together all the races was to assist in removing the Shadowlord (and his crystal line interference) so they can execute their real plan...

In a (really) abstract sense, the Shadowlord is the enemy of your enemy, and prevents the really bad events from happening. Though, would I rather be enslaved/wiped out, or have all of existance reformatted? Decisions, decisions...

Well yeah, what you all said was true (and it's kinda silly to tiny text RoZ spoilers cause everyone should seriously be far enough to know the true bad guys by now >_>) all I said was that the archduke wasnt a saint or anything, he only gathered the nations together to get rid of the shadow lord so he could go on with his evil plan !

I don't think you'll see Tonberries. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly they, along with the Sahagin, told the Shadow Lord to GTFO.

I usually try to keep spoilers tiny to be nice to the new (and/or lazy) players. This is the advanced player discussion though afterall, and anything smaller than 100 text size must not qualify as advanced. Needs more 200 sized text I guess... :D

Of course, WotG present the perfect chance to prove all the history we thought we knew to be incorrect, so who knows...

Both Sahagin and Tonberries participated in the war. In the trailer, they even show one of the tonberry assassins. (Interestingly enough, it's a cryptonberry which would mean it's from pso'xja right?).

The Sahagin didn't originally want to participate in the war, but the Shadow Lord gave them the big speech about how if they didn't, Bastok or the Mithras (cant remember) would rape their beautiful jungle and stuff. So being the hippies they are they sunk several of the Bastok Navy's ships during the Crystal War.

At least I'm fairly certain that's how it all went down
