Not like I was gonna vote for him anyways, but could he make a bigger mistake?

Rudy backtracks on earlier statement, panders to Red Sox Nation.

"I will be rooting for the Red Sox because I am an American League fan," he told a group of reporters, most of them local. "In this case, you won the division and we lost."

The comments were viewed by some as a traitorous play for votes from a man who keeps four Yankee World Series rings in his dresser and has long mocked Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for dividing her baseball loyalties between the American League Yankees and National League Cubs.

Last July, The Providence Journal asked the former mayor this fateful question: If the Devil said you can be President if you become a Red Sox fan, would you do it?

"I'm a Yankee fan," Giuliani replied then. "I always believe it's a sign of my being straight with people, about not wanting to fool them, that I was one of the first mayors to be willing to say I was a Yankee fan."

He went on to say he had "great respect" for true Red Sox fans, but as for becoming a Red Sox cheerleader in a Devil's bargain, "Probably that's a deal I could not make," he said.

Giuliani sounded a different note on Tuesday as he stumped through New Hampshire, a loyal province of the Red Sox Nation and home to the first presidential primary.

A headline like:

I'd still take the Daily News over the Post any day...

Yea, the Post is crap too. I hate these papers that just spew drama. I mean, when you read an article, it's not, "Government official under investigation for sexual conduct." instead it says, "Disgusting Govt. Official gets busted being a peeping tom." or something like that.

I want news and facts, not your dramatic adjectives.

The free papers like Metro and AM:NY are actually pretty good sources of information. Just news, no opinions or anything.

this is so blown out of proportion. He is well known as a yankee fan (even as a kid in Brooklyn, in dodger territory, for those that have read his book like me) and i'm sure that hasn't changed. He is both being political (not offending anyone) and probably being honest.

When the lakers don't make the finals, I still want west to win, even if its a team I hate like the Mavs. Just makes sense to me that you would want the division your team comes from to win in the finals, otherwise its as if your team would have lost too.

edit: i guess some don't see the distinction between rooting for a team to win and being a fan.

Fixed. In a way it's a good sign, because it means most of us don't have real problems to worry about. or to be precise, our biggest problem is "I have to go to work every day and I hate it", but it's easier to find a distraction than try to do something about that.
