You should download this fix here: http://www.fileplanet.com/181939/180...h-Modification It'll give you all dx10 effects under XP with the exception of Object motion blur. I'm using it myself and its working great.

This game is eye watering beutiful.

    Re: Crysis SPDemo

Finally had enough time to sit down and play through the whole demo on max difficulty, treating it as a game instead of an eye-candy display. Basic gameplay is pretty good, its standard FPS fare with the suit / freedom to go pretty much anywhere. If you expect "meat and potatoes" FPS gameplay, this delivers better than just about anything else there is.

I did get through the NKA cannon fodder enemies with little difficulty using the suit/etc. and was a bit bummed like everyone else that the final game would be too easy, until I hit the last part of the demo :

Screenshots do not do this game justice, at all (and a lot will look blurred like the ones above). In motion, on a rig that can handle it, this game looks absolutely ridiculous. Even if the SP story/depth falls flat on its face I can't wait to see what the MOD community does with this, this has me itching to find time to get involved with that scene again.

Having trouble getting through the games introductory cutscenes, I'm running at optimized settings for my machine and its brand new. 2x 8600s GTS, Intel dualcore 6700 @2.66 GHz. @2.00GB RAM. Any suggestions would be great, I'm leaning towards drivers being a problem.

I doubt it, I intend to update the drivers within the hour, I had trouble getting ffxi to start last time I updated though because of the problems FFXI has with the 8600 cards.

Yeah still having issues with the game. Installed the Beta drivers and all and its really slow and choppy. And I honestly can't figure out why. Any suggestions

What settings are you running? what resolution are you playing at?

My 'optimizes' to everything very high, and it runs like crap that way. I have to put everything to high for acceptable FPS. I'm using a Q6600 OC'd to 3.00Ghz and a 8800GTX.

playing around with it I noticed it (imo) optimizes too far for what is excepted fps. I have not tried the new beta drivers optimized for Crysis as I am hearing horror stories with them but an older driver set that has proved to be fantastic for me (162.18 for 32-XP).

Nonetheless, i'm sporting a 8800 GTS 640MB, core 2 duo e6750 at stock, 2 GB RAM, and 32-XP. It optimized to High and I added in x4 AA at 1600x1050. It gave me sub-par fps (don't have fraps to measure fps) with 1 major artifact on every hummer I approached at about 10 yards from me.

resolution is 1440x900. Optimizing sets everything to medium settings. I'm not sure what it is really. Its just generally slow and choppy, even on the lowest settings.

I have weird sounds coming from the chassis when the intro comes up (EA, Crytek, Intel logos), but when that finishes, the sound stops.

Been messing around with different system settings and just going through the game seeing if there is anywhere new to explore (and the game is a beauty )

I just got this weird glitch where i can see doubles of myself. Happened after i changed view modes in the boat thats propped on wood.

Program Files -> Electronic Arts -> Crytek -> Crysis SP Demo -> Game -> Localized -> Video

Delete anything in the folder that starts with the word "Trailer" (there should be 9 .sfd files), when you start the demo you'll go right into the main menu. Sitting through all of the intro screens while tweaking performance / drivers got annoying real fast, this shoud take care of it.

Just got finished playing, demo alone nearly drained all of my computers resources rofl. It was insane, I loved it though. This suit is seriously the most badass thing. I'm glad they didn't rip off slow motion in this, they already have so much other cool shit. Crysis makes me want to upgrade my computer.. which I am going to do. 3GB's of ram and a new video card coming up.

    Re: Crysis SPDemo

Ram is actually having very little impact in most machines unless you're trying do something foolish like game under Vista w/1GB, I havent seen the demo break 900MB during any testing. Processing power is also showing a mild influence past a certain point in the CPU batch benchmark (the one where he goes apeshit with the M72), including multiple cores and 32 vs. 64 bit. I can drop my cores all the way back down to stock and it has a minimal impact on fps, however shader clocks / SLI make a huge difference. GPU power seems to be king with this (what a shock....), and contrary to what some people are saying, SLI is working and is the biggest differential people are seeing atm.

The scalability of this engine is rather remarkable, people are having fun with this on all sorts of machines and even at the lower settings it still looks pretty good. I'm already sitting on the top end and this is the first game in a loooong time that has me really jonesing for the next Nvidia and Intel releases. 1080p @ 60fps will be absolutely sick with this engine, top end rigs can barely muster about half of that right now.

I'm running an XP1800, Nvidia 6200/256mb, with 1.50 GB of RAM (guess my mobo ain't recognizing the other 512MB I have installed) and this game stutters for me. I'm guessing my processor just sucks.
