I use my mouse3 for the suit controls, but it's kinda' crappy cause you can still run but you can't turn while you're making your selection. By the end of the demo though I got pretty fast at changing to maximum strength, bitchslapping someone across the level and switching back to armour

I downloaded it as well, if it's the Razor1911 version, there's a folder on the ISO itself, explore it through my computer, I forget what it is called exactly, but it has a key generator and it works fine. But that's only single player, if you try to play multi player online, you will need a legit cd key

Orz... just beat the game. Ending is failure. Such an anti-climactic way to end and otherwise insanely action packed game. Gonna replay it though since I found out how to get cheats working. Basically just edit how much energy your suit needs for the abilities, and infinite ammo. :>

    Also the 'hardcore' mode file is called Bauer.. >_>;

The KPA helicopter AI is buggy as hell. During the harbour level, one of them flew all the way up to the highest point of the map and wouldn't come back down... Took me like an hour to land a shot on it to get its attention, took another half hour for it to hover back down so I could shoot it down with the rocket launcher

Cevat recently "let it slip" that the SP campaign is a trilogy, with installments 2 and 3 coming in ~2008. Sucks for now, but its why the SP campaign ends with such an abrupt "....really...thats it?" feeling, its basically just Act I. As annoying as it is this is becoming more common in games like this (Halo did it sucessfully eventhough people were pissed after 2) and its what people were afraid of when the reviews hit describing the "ending". However, since the engine is built and looks like it will hold its 2 year crown, the focus will be primarily on content and possibly adding co-op, so it should be even better than Act I, which was really good if you view it as such. The replay value built into this is more than enough to tide people over anyway, and there are several mod teams already working on their own continuation of the story.

Well yet another game that was grossly overhyped . It may just be that it ran like shit on my desktop on medium settings but no, they had the fuck up the ending. Two more games out of this? How much more unique jungle/spaceship battles can they make? I don't think I'll be buying the next two...

I have to say that zero-g level was crazy. I was so disoriented in a few parts, and the fucking aliens coming out of nowhere scared the shit outta me. It seems Half-Life 2 set has set the standard for this 'Episode' shit for FPS now. But HL2 ended their installments pretty well. But I'd definitely go for buying the next few just for the single player, I haven't even tried multi-player for Crysis yet.

These two statements go hand in hand with this release. The bulk of the hype was the engine itself, medium settings basically means you're playing with FarCry class graphics. As far as everything else, it's still a FPS, and it's arguably the best one ever released. A lot of people are miffed that they can run the UT3 based shooters well, but CE2 runs like "a donkey eating a waffle" on their box. The engines aren't even in the same class, CE2 really is "next-gen" and I hate that phrase. You can't really re-invent the wheel with FPS based gameplay either, I still don't know why people were expecting Crytek to.

Lights off + good headphones + big screen + Core level = !@%@#%!. Granted, it's the one area of the game that pretty much breaks down into a corridor-ish "point A to point B" shooter, but it's probably the most immersive section in the entire game. A lot of people think it's the worst stretch, but thats probably because the rest of the game is so damn intense that it feels like a slow section. Personally, I wish they had elaborated on it, the eye candy and atmosphere were top-notch. A Zero-G MP level will be a blast as well, and is one of the first things I'm going to work on once I get some free time over the holidays.

Bad timing. You still need a very high end computer to play this, and for most people, that boils down to two categories...

    1) Can't play it, won't buy it

    2) Can play it, will play on low / medium settings, think its a POS, won't play anymore.

Every single time I play it though, I'm thoroughly amazed - and its on High settings, not Very High (Need Vista for that, and even then don't think my rig would handle it that well). I just got done playing and I was running behind a guy just going 'wow'. To have an immersive FPS with THAT KIND OF GRAPHICS..just.. omg. Its nuts, I'm sorry, I can't explain it in words to how amazing it is to me everytime I play it. Gahh..

BTW, as far as Sandbox editted maps go, where can I find them?

Yup, thats pretty much how it is right now, but penalizing a game for what it is based on the hardware restrictions isn't fair, the game is what it is. If the game was an inefficient piece of crap that simply ran bad thats one thing, but it isn't the case with CE2. This game spanks just about every setup there is, but its not without reason. Sucks for most, especially console gamers who will probably see a watered down version of this in '08 if at all, and they probably could have gotten away with holding the release for another hardware cycle. EA was trying to push this out the door for the '07 gaming season and it still does run well on the top-end, just not maxed.

You can pull off ~40 fps at 720p/DX9/4xAA/High on a single slot G8x-9x/C2D based rig atm, which is a reasonable top-end box, and it looks better than anything else there is. It scales down to some rather old stuff too at the lower settings, but since the setting tiers actually have a significant impact with this engine when you drop below High, it ends up looking no better than FarCry. If you're at the "enthusiast top-end", this is the first game in over a year that will slap your hardware in the face and looks significantly better than anything a console can currently muster.

Wasn't trying to start a flame war or anything with that comment, but its true. For meat and potatoes, running around and blowing stuff up FPS gameplay, this is currently the best there is, not the most influential, but the best. If I want story driven gameplay and a focus on artistic direction, I'll play Bioshock, but its still just a UT3 corridor shooter that you're pretty much done with once its over. CoD4 / TF2 currently split the MP crown simply because of the playerbase / console requirements. Large scale Crysis MP on a server without idiots is right up there in terms of fun. However, finding a server with more than a handful of people who aren't constantly spamming "How I get gunz?" or "This runs like shit on my 6600gt, unoptimized trash..." is a rarity atm. The other games are great, don't get me wrong as I've had a blast with both, but they don't hold a candle to Crysis with sufficient hardware.

BTW, as far as Sandbox editted maps go, where can I find them?
Just start checking Crymod.com, anything good usually pops up there first.

Alright, so a recent discovery has made me get Crysis due to the sheer awesomeness of it:

    Step 1: Watch this video.
Step 2: Go here and download Physis.
Step 3: Go here and download xyz.
Step 4: Spend hours of having fun with an awesome physics system.
Step 5: Check back for new maps to be out.

Isn't the AI like... extremely retarded in this game?
