Not sure if the main entity of Gamestop came from them first, before the other takeovers, but my cousin worked there and liked it. Didn't have all the corporate rules and bs, they just had to do a good job and work with the customers. Had all kinds of preplayed games in stock dating back from forever, and got all kinds of cool loot as giveaways, not counting stuff he gave me anyways.
Edit: Btw, im talking like 10-13 years ago
yea i had a funcoland that i used to go to when i was younger wasn't much different, the people were kinda nice tho, only had 1 gamestop in the area and i never went there, always went to EB.
but yea, funcoland has been gamestop for 7, almost 8 years now. so yea, 10-13 years ago would be before the merger(buyout)
EB was a great company to work for; Gamestop, not so much. To be fair, they are going back to a lot of the old EB practices but there is still so much bullshit to deal with that it's really just not worth working there anymore.
Now that I've completely derailed this thread by my desire to find a new career, how about some Mario Galaxy?
This is very true; however, I was schedule at 9, came in at 9, had my stuff done, and had to wait 20 minutes to open the store :DStore Manager in our district got fired for coming in at 8 AM and playing on the demo stations until open. Wasting company time, falsifying hours, etc etc
I wouldn't recommend playing games while on the clock, THAT is grounds for dismissal.
Edit: Actually, I did say:
I wouldn't dream of playing it with stuff to do, I like my job 8)Gonna take every opportunity to come in on time, get stuff done, and have 20 mins to chill on that maybe
Can't play during open hours, its grounds for dismissal @_@;;

Looks like Nintendo has gotten better with piracy on Wii or this is just another small hurdle for the pirates out there.

The backups work on D2C modded wii's (ironically, that is the latest wii that was specially designed to thwart piracy). People get that error with 1st gen consoles mods. Just a matter of time really. Oh, and they changed the cover BRP.

Yeah just saw this http://www.gametrailers.com/player/user ... t=featured
nvm save video as Tyches.
A simple firmware upgrade to modchips fixes the problem. Team cyclops (cyclowiz) have already released a beta of their firmware upgrade that runs the game. Of course, I have a fucking wiikey, whose team is notorious for a lack of updates.
I got a wiinja, and it doesn't look like they have any updates yet either![]()
I don't think it's that so much as some people just have modded systems, and if it won't work at all on em that's kinda lame.Originally Posted by Avé

[07.10.29] Update on Super Mario Galaxy Issue
In addition to the announcement made earlier today about Super Mario Galaxy, we are pleased to confirm that we have now identified the copy protection method responsible and created a fix.
In order to guarantee stability, we have had to make a fairly major change to the way the code works. While all tests have proven positive, the challenge now is to create a delivery system to allow existing Wiikeys to be updated.
As ever, we appreciate your patience and support while we do this.
btw, my wiikey was my easiest chip install ever![]()
,
slim ps2's though....thats a beast
Except that that announcement was made after Tyche posted =P

It does work on modded systems, it was just the burned copy that wouldn't run on the modded system.Originally Posted by Plow

Yeah, what juli said, I posted that, like, 3 minutes (no shit) after cyclo released their update. Noone is lurking more than I am. I have IRC channels up, GBAtemp forums refreshing constantly, and even keep an eye on the BC forums in case someone breaks something there. Im really surprised that the open source chips havent been updated, the fix has been posted everywhere.Originally Posted by cubone
Edit: The 1.9B firmware for wiikey has absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo's 3.0 firmware. The wiikey update was leaked a long long time before nintendo released their 3.0. They had to fix DL compatibility and the GC streaming sound. That update was many months late, hence, the wiikey team being notorious for a lack of updating. Lurk moar lol. They really on the ball with this mario fix it seems though. Good for them.
Stop pirating games you fucking jerks. If you want to play it, buy it, rent it, or borrow it from a friend who did buy it.
