Hey /bg/, long time reader first time poster. I've been reading the Console Wars for months now and these forums for years. Recently I've had the desire to get myself a Playstation 3. But, being a typical college student I can't afford any of them (yeah I know, sorry its expensive!). So I found this site; ps34free.com. So I thought of the following idea (I don't think I'm breaking any of Sono's rules)

They supposedly are one of those marketing companies that get paid for people to sign up for shit. Normally I'd avoid this, but this one seems pretty painfree... Apparently I had to make an account (takes <1 min); and then "do" one of their deals. The first one seemed the easiest and it was the most legitimate and riskfree, all I had to do is make a profile on fastwebs (a scholarship searching program). I've heard about this from counselors actually, so it is actually a useful site. I didn't have to sign up for a trials or anything. After I "do" this (make a profile), all I have to do is "refer" 12 other people to their website and they must do one of the activities as well. Well, here is where I need your help... I am really curious to see if this site is for real. I have already made my profile... took maybe 5-10 minutes? Something that can be done between HNM windows 8) . Of course, I also marked "no" for all of FastWeb's promotions so I didn't get extra junk mail..

My goal is to see if this site follows through and actually sends me a console. If you're bored and want to help me out by following the referral link, by all means {Help me out!}. I'm not an advertising bot etc., I'm just a curious BGer. If you decide to do this and basically make a FastWebs account (you have to get to the point where you can see what scholarships you are eligible for), just send me a PM and let me know you've done so. I will respond to each person who PMs me if/when they do or do not send it. If they DO send it then feel free to do it for yourself . (BTW -- If you don't want a PS3/have one already, you can get $500 via PayPal as an alternative reward). The only "catch's" are that you cannot have an account on ps34free.com and fastwebs already. This of course can be bypassed by an extra free email account on yahoo/gmail/etc. <--- Also good if you fear spam junkmail. Instructions:
1.) Go to my referral (most important) : http://www.ps34free.com/default.aspx?r=943765
2.) Complete an offer (I recommend the second one, FastWebs scholarships thing)
a.) This is the only one I've done personally. All it asks is that you finish your profile until it lists the scholarships you can get. Feel free to make a fake email address and/or fake person for the FastWebs, it can't tell the difference.
3.) Send me a PM here on these forums once you're done and I'll keep you updated.
4.) (Optional) Do it yourself... (refer 12 people) .."free" PS3 or $500 PayPal.. why not try?

Couldn't you make a ton of fake emails and do it all yourself? Assuming they don't ask for any personal information that you couldn't just make up (e.g. credit card, or other info). If necessary, you could use a proxy, as well.

I think EGM is the mag that did an article a few years back about these kinds of sites that advertise free consoles. They said it took months of hassling and tons and tons of junk mail(both snail mail and email). To actually recieve the console they require your name/address and sell your info to all sorts of places that pretty much ensures you get whored out until the end of time for stuff. They said if you didn't mind the time/hassles that the place they tried was legit at least.

yeah i believe that, the only thing that attracted me to this one is the fact that it doesn't ask for a CC at all; or an address until you have earned the prize & need to provide delivery information
