Where is this quest?Do the Nocturnal quest for the skeleton key as soon as you can, makes things a metric fuckton easier.

How do you kill will-o-wisps?
Where can you get tons of lockpicks/repair hammers?

Very easy way to make money. Raise your Stealth skill and your Lockpicking. If you join the Dark Brotherhood you get armor that increases those abilities even more. You can basically steal everything that isn't nailed down when those two skills are high.
The shrine you want is around the south~east corner of the map. I stumbled across it while i was doing the Knights of the Nine expansion trying for I think the gauntlets. All I can tell you is its on a proper road/path near there, I uninstalled after completeing >< Nocturnal is the name of the daedra at the shrine you get the quest from. You get her eye, take it back to the daerda and she gives you the key. Yay for clicking auto~pick and any lock opening every time![]()
While closing a random Oblivion Gate I found a "Ring of Perfection" on the dead body of one of the Dremora I killed. The ring grants a constant effect of +10 to all Stats, which I thought was pretty handy.
It did make me a bit curious as to what other super-items people have found (not counting Daedra artifacts).
I don't think I have come across that ring. Sounds pretty nice though. All my swag seems to be run of the mill Dremora weapons etc. Every now and then one of them will drop a nice weapon, but for the most part, crap.
Reading this thread got me wanting to play again yesterday so I made a new toon. Nothing says fun like a Nord thiefy type!
should i save up to buy a house or horse? i got 6k+ already
and whats the invisible spell called please, cus i cant find "Inivisible" in any city, thanks.
The spells that certain merchants have can be somewhat random at times. On my first play through I could only get it after joining the dark brotherhood and buying it from their spell merchant (I forget what it's called atm, just highlight the spell and they should tell you the effects). On another one I was able to buy it from the cheap spell shop in the imperial city. I think it has something to do with your skill and maybe your level or proficiencies since you need a certain amount of skill before you can cast it. Also default of three game days before the world respawns stuff so you could sleep or wait three days somewhere and maybe the shops contents will change if you're higher level or skill.
Once you get it though you can go to a mage's guild spell altar and make your own spell using it as an effect with different time length and such. Problem is you can only "know" so many spells, there's a limit, and they forgot to put in a way to delete spells, so for pc versions you can get a mod that gives you spell deletion. I think 360/ps3 people have no such luck? I hope I'm wrong about that... so many spells in their base forms are pretty crappy or short so you'll eventually have to make your own to get any good use out of them (like when you have 500+ hp do you really want to cast an 8hp healing spell?).
There are a number of decently affordable houses in game for you to buy, just they're totally sparse upon receiving the deed. You have to furnish them which can increase the cost by a whole lot, and you'll need the furnishings if you actually want to put stuff somewhere other then the floor hehe. For all versions though you can buy/download a number of official addons that basically give you a house for free but you still have to furnish it. PC users can of course just search for and download house mods.
And here's a nice forum to help you along with the game and find mods for it.
Kaelan I assume you're on PC? Cause I've never seen that armor in the 360 version.![]()
I want![]()
Thank you, great tips.Originally Posted by orinthia

It's ok. If you haven't done the "Purification" mission yet you can get a replacement while doing that one. You have to kill all the Dark Brotherhood members inside the Sanctuary. You'll have plenty of hoods to fall back on.
This game is freaking awesome. Fiancee just got me the 60GB PS3 for christmas and this was the first game I got, graphics are fucking amazing and the gameplay is sooooo much better than NWN2. I'm amazed at the attention to detail and the seeming limitless environment and interaction.
Made a custom class I dubbed Shadow Knight and i'm like a warrior/Rogue type with weapon specialty in marksmanship and blades.
So happy with this game and the PS3 itself is sweet too.
I just actually beat it for the first time last night. I was a little disappointed with the ending. But the armor you get is pretty damn nice.
You mean you didn't like the whole devil turning to stone part?(i think? it's been like a year now..)
Eh, NWN is a different style of game. Mask of the Betrayer is excellent. This game is freaking awesome. I've tried to like Oblivion like I tried to like Morrowind...just can't seem to get into it. The interface is clunky compared to most PC games (don't need a 10-foot interface when running 1280x1024 on a PC screen, kthnx), and it crashes all the freaking time.
Don't get me wrong, there's stuff to like about it...but I find it to be pretty far from a universally great gaming experience.
My problem with the game is I'm an absolute mod whore when it comes to graphics tweaking and UI tweaking and all that shit. I install so many mods that the game ends up conflicting somewhere and crashing.
Here's a couple things that could help:
First is a pinned thread here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index ... pic=775917
Its main focus is trying to get across how mods alter the game, the whole rule of one (entry mods will not overlap, only the latest alteration will take effect and everything before it is ignored). If you use certain mods that modify things/entries then you might have some conflicts unless the alterations are pulled out, merged into a new file, and loaded last. Sounds complicated but it's not too bad.
This thread here: http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index ... pic=781950 ; is the latest thread for a very popular oblivion tool called Wrye Bash that allows you to do this. It can find conflicts within mods and with a little luck you can fix them or alter the loading order to have a desired mod's alterations active over another. Better luck though is built upon experimentation and a lot of reading on how the tool works or asking questions on that forum. I learned a bit how to use it while getting FCOM to run (it's a mod that merges together some of the bigger game mods that pretty much alter everything).
Another interesting tool that may help with the crashes is Streamline. Even if it doesn't you'll probably get smoother play and better frame rates. I think it's just how the game is for pc... morrowind was the same way: prone to crashes. Longest I go is around two-four hours before it crashes to desktop, but then that's about as much as I can take sitting down on the comp chair heh.
It's sort of a different style but at least in my opinion they share a lot of similarities where I think oblivion is better. There's an actually map and world to explore with 20x the content as NWN and there is a lot more freedom. In NWN2 you are extremely limited in what you can and can't do, something I think is awesome about oblivion.Originally Posted by Isiolia

My ONLY problem with this game is the fucking vampire shit and the bloodgrass bug to get cured. Since i'm not on PC I can't open the damn console to fix it and I have no clue how to get her to accept the bloodgrass. Being a vampire sucks so freaking bad and it's such a pain in the ass to get the cure I've leveled up like 5 times since I turned trying to find the soul gems and then the ingredients that by the time I can get back to the story i'm going to be so high level vs. my companions i'm going to get rocked.
Nearly everything in regular oblivion scales to the player. Even bandits will start coming at you wearing glass or deadric, which is just a tad silly (they're damn bandits!). There should also be a difficulty slider which basically makes everything else have less hp and do less dmg while you do more dmg, or vice-versa if you turn it higher.
While the ps3/xbox360 versions run a lot smoother and far more stable it's one of the bigger limitations to the game: no real add-ons or user fixes/updates (I thought they at least had a command console for that version, guess I was wrong). Maybe the shivering isles expansion updates the console versions or maybe there's an update for it in whatever online area ps3/xbox have? idk, I only have pc version. Oh, I'd get the expansion anyway as it should include all the regular official mods which includes a particular house mod for vampire/thief characters that has a quick cure for vampirism. "The Vile Lair - DLC5;" it's an official mod for it so you should be able to get it on ps3 somehow...
And I guess it's a tad too late to tell you: when you first get infected by a vampire you can cure it by using a potion or spell that "cure disease." It's only if you let it proliferate to where you actually get the suntime dmg that you need the vamp cure potion. I usually carry a couple potions on me along with having the spell just in case I'm in a bad spot. Unless... you accepted the "dark gift."![]()
I wish I knew that, i've got like a million potions and coulda cured it but I didn't nkow.
I got infected when I was like level 4, now i'm level 12 since i've found out and trying to fix it. Can't even progress in the story line, I haven't even gone to Kvatch for the first time and done that yet.
Are there any fixes for the bloodgrass thing for the ps3 version. I haven't been able to find anything online and nothing I do seems to get her to accept them.
I don't know who would actually want to stay a vampire, it absolutely sucks.
