    Worm vs Mimic

I got into an argument with Max about this a while ago. From what it seems like, neither will be able to reach each other as neither can move and start out of range of each other. Does anyone know if this actually happens or can they melee each other?

...huh. That's an interesting idea. If it's true, a BLM worm could take down any mimic, since it could just nuke and not die by throwing itself at blaze spikes for 0 damage.

Hm, i'll have to try this with my worm I'm working on. I've yet to ever fight a Mimic with it.

I think they start within melee range of each other though, since mobs can reach I think 5 distance?

I was just wondering because at the start of every match both mobs always walk a little to each other.

Also hows Worm FP look? Was thinking about getting one. <.<

So what about mimic versus mimic? If they start out out of range of other, that's going to be a really boring fight.

Mimic vs Mimic works, so I think Worm vs Mimic would as well.

I watched a worm v worm fight a couple times. Was pretty funny until they both ran out of mp. Like 1.5 minutes of absolutely nothing, because they were out of range and couldn't cast any spells. They were both really low level though (under 10), so guessing it wouldn't be as bad later on.

Arn't mimics weak to magic? A decent worm would probably be able to kill one at 50.

    Re: Worm vs Mimic

Yeah, Mimics take at least an extra 10% magic damage, because the 50 damage enspells do anywhere from 55-60 damage, so if worms are really out of Mimic range, it makes them the absolute perfect anti-mimic.

Oh, and worms have 71 FP at level 29.

The only problem with worms are... how do you beat anything else? Mages seem to get spanked alot in Pankration. <__<

    Re: Worm vs Mimic

Yeah, I'm raising it up just to see how it does, and to counter Mimics. Mage mobs in general aren't too strong.

I just reeeeeeeeeeaaalllyyy hate Mimics. On my server, theres 3 different mimics who kind of rotate in the pit. Almost no one mages magic based mobs, and they're nigh unbeatable through melee, and its frustrating seeing them in there. It would be worth raising a worm mob just to knock them out, then resign and let someone else be champ.

If your server is like Midgar ( >10 minute wait in Diablo), you could have the worm beat the mimic, resign, switch official plates to your other mob, then enter and be champ for a while... until the mimic comes back.

Nod, thats the plan. We move between 12 or so minutes, to max minutes during JP time. All 3 Mimics are also JP too, so if they lose after about noon, you don't see them again until 11pm to midnight.

    Re: Worm vs Mimic

I used to have a mimic, but since mimics seemed weak, I swapped with an enspell apkallu. Then I swapped enspell for dispelling attack after everyone started using Phalanx. Think it's worth digging my mimic out again? I haven't seen any win much of anything lately. Right now, all the champs are rabbits.

Only thing I don't look forward to is changing my mimic's temperament to "somewhat tame, somewhat aggressive" after having finally done so with the apkallu.

    Re: Worm vs Mimic

Mimic can't move and only has 1 tp attack. Just set it to aggressive and it'll just stun enemy tp attacks. No need to try and get it to a specific temperment like with rabbits and stuff, because its not like its going to outrun or sidestep a tp attack.

I think its funny reading about other Diabolo on other servers. On Bahamut theres a few chigoes who alternate champ and they're all so very annoying. Don't see much else stay there.

    Re: Worm vs Mimic

Speaking of sidestepping a TP attack, my apkallu will do that for some mobs, but against rabbits he just stands there and takes the Whirl Claws. He won't run to the side.

Ditto. I can never get my pet to even try to sidestep rabbits.

Only mob I have that problem with.

    Update!

This myth is busted. Finally got my worm against a Mimic. The mimic easily reached it and meleed it like any other enemy.
