I've noticed this too, especially with snipers ;x.

anyone else think overkill is kind of meh, just because it's in cat #2? If it was 1 or something it'd be a no-brainer, but I'm having a hard time giving up juggernaut, that extra damage thing, and double tap for another weapon, when you can pick them up in the map anyway.

I think it depends on the map. Obviously for shipping it would suck. But for a map like the one with a street down the middle. I love having my shotgun and my m14. Shotgun for running through the buildings and the m14 for those longer kills.

I've gotten tired of multiplayer for CoD4. I just replay the missions.

Uggh never had to mute so many douche-bags as I have today...not to mention 50% of Hardcore matches ending up in TK competitions. Makes me not want to have kids...

I usually keep my headset off unless i'm playing with friends but if I log on in the mornings and no one is on I don't use my headset. Seriously do kids fucking go to school anymore?

I always use the headset, in the hopes I have someone with a semi-decent IQ on my team that will listen and/or help direct.

Then again, I did just buy a wireless headset and I can't get enough of it, sometimes I leave it on even after I'm done playing accidentally.

    Re: Call of Duty 4

    Hint: Easy Intel

The following works on the mission entitled "Hunted". After fighting your way through a basement (after going underneath a bridge, across a field, et cetera), you'll reemerge outside. A nearby house next to a vending machine and a car should be your target from here. Inside the house, there's a laptop on the table. This is a piece of Intel, and collecting all thirty of them in the game will unlock all of the Cheat options available. If you collect the Laptop, and then head through the nearby checkpoint, it will be permanently acquired on your save file. Kill yourself at this point (a Grenade is an easy way to do so), and backtrack to the house. Collect the Laptop again, go to the checkpoint, kill yourself, and repeat the process. By doing this, you can collect thirty laptops without actually collecting all thirty of them. (unverified)
    Anyone wanna try?

I'm under the impression that once you collect that Intel, it's gone and you have to collect each individual one. Whenever I personally have played a game where you have to collect a number of objects, once you get a certain one then it disappears from the game.

They disappear from the game once you pick them up... unless that's a glitch.

Didn't pick up a copy until yesterday since I thought my new HDTV was going to arrive by now but...yeah. Anyway the single player campaign was pretty awesome, kinda short but whatever. Multiplayer is a blast, I hate that martyr shit though, decided not to use it because I like Last Stand a lot better.

I hope they extend the time just by a few seconds of when Martyr grenades explode but meh still fun as hell.

Oh man, I know I am probably late to this, but just experienced something in CoD4 I have never experienced before in a game.

The end of the mission where you escape in the helicopter and then the nuclear missile goes off, and then it shows another scene of you controlling Jackson as he escapes from he wreckage until he slowly dies. omg that was so powerful... this game is fucking epic.

    Re: Call of Duty 4

I pretty much stick to Domination multiplayer mode and I use the p90 with red dot sight, desert eagle, bandolier (i find it hard to pickup p90 ammo from the ground), double tap, and martyrdom.

Does anyone else find it ridiculously hard to land hits with the sniper rifles? It doesn't ever matter if I am pressing L3 to hold my breath or not, crouching or standing, the bullets never go where the crosshair is pointing... I gave up on trying to unlock the ACOG scopes for any of them.

And how people can tolerate the iron sights in order to use the grenade launchers is something I will never understand.

What other setups are people using in MP? I have the M16 with red dot sight and stopping power setup as one of my customs but I rarely use anything but p90 on the Domination maps.

    Re: Call of Duty 4

I mainly just stick to the ol' M16 with red dot sight and stopping power, just got red tiger camo for it actually (150 headshots) but in sniper maps i will use the .50cal sniper, its 5000 times better then the other snipers.

Heh, yeah. When I first unlocked the .50 cal and used it for the first time, my initial reaction was wow, this thing just sounds like pure awesomeness everytime it fires...

Yessss. Too bad I decided to start Prestige Mode 1 and have about 35 levels to go before i see it again =P

Since restarting at level 1 I am only using M16 with Red Dot, going for Camos, and if need be... the M21. I really only pull out the sniper if i am getting sniped myself. It is just very very rewarding to get sniped, switch to a sniper rifle, and get 3-4 headshots on said sniper making him finally realize he should move a bit more often. Vengeance!

With the snipers, i never really did mess with them much on my first run to 55 until i got the .50 cal. But using them much earlier now, it is all about headshots. Even with the pitiful damage on the M21 if you really aim well and countersnipe or wait for heads to sit still looking around, you can get headshots just fine. That is even without the Stopping Power, which i swap out for UAV Jammer on just about every class i have.

With the M21 you can also take someone out that rushes/surprises you with 3 shots to the chest (if you are lucky) before they stab you. =)

Haha! How do you start prestige mode though, and how does that change gameplay?

    Re: Call of Duty 4

It really doesn't change anything, not exactly. Once you reach level 55, and then get about 4900 more XP the option to enter Prestige Mode will open.

ALL Prestige Mode does is wipe all of your rank, your challenges, your perks and guns. Basically, it restarts you at level 1 again, only you have a new Icon. The Prestige Icon. For some, it is all about "hey look what i can do!!" and they will choose this for that reason (and, with a different icon each time you do it... with a max of 10 times you can restart at 1) people are already on their 5th or 6th Prestige run through.

For me, the best part of this game is doing all of the challenges. I just decided i would have fun doing it again. I highly doubt that once i hit 55 again... that i will start at 1 a second time =P

EDIT: Of course there are all kinds of rumors/speculations about what you get when you hit Prestige 10 (and i just looked, there is a guy that is on Prestige 9 now) but it is all heresay atm. There ARE two blank Perk Spots though =P

    Re: Call of Duty 4

Yeah I think sniping can be a real bitch online especially if your lagging or the servers lagging, thats why in almost all online games I always just ignore the sniper rifle and only use it in single player campaigns, unless I have a real nice server but I guess you can't really select the servers you get in COD4.
