Do you talk to the Barber?

I've been going to the same barber and nowhere else ever since I was five. Him and my dad used to talk about the white man every chance they got.

I hope to do that some day.

Last time I got a haircut was almost 2 years ago, before that was 4.5 years ago

Never understood the $20+ haircut, $10 + a $2-3 tip is usually fine for me

I like my hair long, + I dye it many colors from blonde, strawberry blonde, dark red auburn, now to intense red copper
(Weird thing is my original baby hair color has respawned, somehow, used to be a bright red brown)

I do maintain my hair, conditioners are a plenty due to the Coscto buy 2 Shampoo get 2 free conditioners deals that often happen

Was going to post something along those lines but you posted first, for me it's also that I'm there for a specific reason (this applies just about anywhere I go when purchasing an item or service.) and that's about all I'm there for.

I mean, if they want to talk that's all fine and dandy, but it better not detract from how well they do their job.
I just won't be the one starting the conversation.

The one time Remy (my stylist, weird coincidence) ended up cutting my hair shorter than planned, i ended up liking it even more than what I went for, and I've worn it like that ever since. Of course thats not something that happens often

Thats an ultimate rule: don't fuck with people who serve you (waiters, drivers, housemaids, chefs, barbers, etc)

I think waiters and people like Barbers and Stylists are two different things.

Barbers are charging you a prearranged price for their services, so I wouldn't say so much about tipping them than the waiter who gets paid shit and their earrnings depend almost solely on the tips that you give them. So I agree, 20 bucks for a haircut, ok, here's your twenty bucks, see you in two weeks, but not the same for waiters/tresses.

My stylist/barber is actually a pretty attractive girl whos a good friend and fun to talk to. She also knows how to cut my hair the way I want it everytime. I guess not everyone is as lucky? I guess if I went to some random joe's everytime, I'd imagine it'd be a little awkward and uncomfortable. I suggest asking friends for recommendations, usually among a circle of people theres always someone who knows a good place/person who doesnt make it uncomfortable.

I'm not uncomfortable, I just have no emotional investment in the place. Look, honestly I do prefer listening to the music and thinking about stuff than telling someone who I may or may not ever see again about myself.

I'm kinda suprised by the tipping thing, I honestly don't know anyone who dosen't tip their stylist/barber, mabye it's a midwest thing?
