Sath and I again, Nin+Rdm. We like to get shafted in the ass by tough junk like this. The description is that it's a straight fight with a plain old ram who also uses stoneskin and paralyzega.

What we are wondering:

We just remembered rams use petrification. We are noobs, make it a trio and toss in a whm for stona, then consider the following.

1: Does it have some sort of ridiculous auto regen?
-based on the r/x cape reward

2: Massive HP/Def/Acc/Eva/atk/resistance/etc?
-based on it being a fucking ram and being the only mob in the bc

3: All this work for?
-A crit+ spear for my drg and a purple belt for sathingtonbear

it will say at several points that aeres drifts off to sleep. at this point, he sleeps, as you'd expect, and gains a fairly strong stoneskin effect. when he's napping, he gets a very very strong autoregen, so you have to break thru his stoneskin or you'll lose ground. i've won this on several occasions by smn burning it, since garuda can kick some ass, and even if she gets petrified, max HP downed, or whatnot, it's not a big deal as long as the smn avoids said fate. they can also work off the stoneskin effect fairly fast preventing him from undoing too much of your work. refresh is a good idea though as the battle can run long.

only by hitting it hard enough to break thru that i know of. i've never tried sleeping it myself to see if it gets the same regen effect, but i'd suspect it does. i've read a fair bit about this bc b/c it's always been regarded as one of the hardest out there, and i like a challenge, but i've never seen anyone claim to have beaten it with anything but an astral burn party. he's a savage bastard to say the least from what i've seen.

In case anybody was wondering we eventually gave this shot as a 4man, then 5man group.

Blm, Rdm, Blu, Pld/war, then 5man with an extra blm:
Grav>kite>nuke. Blu chases it and beats the crap out of it.

Discovered early on that you can just dispel the stoneskin, doesn't gain it by falling asleep, just casts the spell. Just keeping bio on kept him awake. Spams the hell out of great bleat more than anything. Hit the paladin for minimal damage (50-80, granted he was in koenig/shield gear+taco because we originally planned to t2t it). It either hits very fast or gets kraken club style multi-attacks, it's hard to tell. Also spams mighty strikes. It resisted normal enfeebles (para, slow, poison, etc) but not gravity or bind (which led to a hilarious self-mpk on my part). Casts paralyga here and there, and rarely uses petribreath. On one run (we did 5 or 6), the blu got killed, and it immediately turned and petrified the rest of us and killed us one at a time. However, 30 minutes is an enormous amount of time for this bc, and we were able to rr, unweaken, and kill it with time to spare.

2 Lumbering horns, 2 gondo-shizunori, 1 gravedigger, 1 rampager, 1 dcloth, 1 adaman ingot, and a bunch of garbage. Very easy but fun ks30 fight.

Go for it.

Average win time was between 5-8 minutes. Aries mantle is not 100% and doesn't share treasure spot with lumbering horn.

hits 50-70 on koenig PLD/WAR with taco, it's really not hard at all.

Lol, the first few posts made it seem like it was going to be a hard ass KS30, but then you come in and say you beat it in 5mins with 5 and had minimal problems ... go figure.

yeah. i'm looking pretty stupid, but ours must have been psycho. bastard loved petribreath. was his #1 most used TP move iirc, and hate could get a bit wild which made for a couple of harried moments. as for the dispel thing, i've never heard of anyone successfully stripping his stoneskin, but then i've barely heard of anyone trying this BC. either way, it's very cool to hear you can do this in other ways, plus the aeries mantle is kinda neat. 12 free sleeping potions. at 1.25k a pop, that's not awful for a freebie.
