$30,000/year. In electric bills. Over 20x the average person in the US. Natural gas lamps? I fail to see how that is green energy/carbon offsets.
I know what you are trying to prove and as I do agree with you about Gore being a giant dumbass on this issue, sucking dick fallout =/= oh noes his energy bill is high.

Alienating an entire sexuality group is a *TAD* more important than someone being a hypocrite about energy.

So the republicans alienate gays. The democrats alienate our troops. And if you believe Al Gore's crap, alienating gays is not more important than being a hypocrite about energy.

Swamp, I'll give the benefit of doubt that you didn't read my post on the first page where I said I was a Republican. However, just because I am a Republican doesn't mean I can't think for myself, so I call them as I see them.

There's nothing fuzzy about the math, the only thing fuzzy here your grasp of basic arithmetic.

    Re: Dear Republican Party,

I was wondering how some of the Britons on the board thought about your health care system over there. I knew it was socialized, but not the specifics. Being in the military, I can't help but wonder how similar it is to TriCare - full coverage, but what they'll do (i.e. limit one ultrasound per pregnancy unless something looks like it's going wrong) and how often they decide to arbitrarily delay your shit despite missing half a tooth for over a year puts a fairly large blemish on it. Seems pretty similar

Because of money/manpower issues health care needs to be limited in some manner. You either get to choose it be limited by money or limited regardless of need.

I mean seriously people, if Americans saw "free health care" do you have any idea how many people would exploit that as much as they possibly could? I think that's one of the more distinguishing characteristics of the country >.>

And once again you prove you have no fucking idea what you are talking about. I never even mentioned anything about specific numbers etc., just you being the general asshat in all discussions you enter, jump all over people's shit that (and in this case was nothing more than a simple joke)

Health care wouldn't be free, you would just be paying for it in the form of taxes. So if I break my arm, you're paying for it.

I'd pay to watch one, another I would not but I guess that isn't part of the discussion is it?

I guess it should have been "free" health care.

Sorry people, we already had this argument. It eventually got derailed and everyone lost interest, but the important part is:

Gore participates in a utility program that sells blocks of "green power" for an extra $4 a month. Gore purchases 108 such blocks every month, covering 16,200 kilowatt-hours and helping subsidize renewable energy sources.
His electricity consumption isn't contributing to global warming, therefore he in fact practices what he preaches, and both Groovebox and Jer can fuck right off. Conservation for the sake of conservation isn't the important issue here - reducing what you do to contribute to total carbon emissions is. Gore claims to lead a "carbon-neutral" lifestyle (through green energy purchases like this article entails and other means) - point to evidence that that isn't true, and you can start calling him a hypocrite. Until then, this is just smoke and mirrors, amounting to absolutely nothing of value.
Also, at the top of the next page someone found an article saying he's adding solar panels. Which can usually power a house with no emissions all by themselves.

    Re: Dear Republican Party,

Alienating an entire, and quite huge, group of people is far more important than not supporting an illegal mass slaughter(Or war, if you're being generous with the term.) The fact is-- You cannot wage war against terrorists as a whole. That's about as futile as declaring holy war on the entirety of Muslims, simply because the majority practice Islam, and the minority are terrorists.

Oppressing a large % of Americans(I'm talking specifically about America at the moment.) simply because the batshit crazy Evangelists see fit to do so is a horrific act, that needs to be abolished ASAP. Need I remind you that no one group of people has ever gained independance and rights via peaceful protest? Freedom has always come from war and violence-- We better hope this struggle doesn't need an act of violence, even though homophobes commit hate crimes, going as far as murdering gay guys on a somewhat-frequent basis.

Plus, this isn't even accounting for the fact that because homosexuality, transexualism, etc are so frowned upon the suicide rate amongst GLBT teenagers is 300%+ higher than heterosexual emo teens whom aren't popular.()

Our government and it's executives have already broken what America was founded on time and time again-- Freedom of Religion and Seperation of Church & State have been made mockeries of. Allowing an entire party that, largely, isn't even a party, but a religion, free reign is a mistake. No one seems to remember that America was founded almost entirely by Quakers, seeking sanction away from the the devout Christianity and Catholicism of Europe.(Almost every single Founding Father was Quaker or Atheistic. Bet you didn't know that.)

Before someone comes at me with "But it says 'One nation under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance!!!!!@@fdgdfggd" That wasn't originally there. It only came about somewhat recently.

LOL...you realize there are Democrats in the military, right? And homosexuals (even though they can't talk about it ; . And you realize that Dems have been voting for troop funding along with the rest of Congress, and that some troops might actually want to come home at some point, right?

It's ok though, you're the kind of Republican the rest of the country needs to see even more of, especially coming up on an election year.

My mistake, when Obama, Hillary, Kerry, and Reid refer to them as terrorists that doesn't mean they don't support them. And of course they vote for funding, Bush would veto everything if they didn't.
