Is there a difference in skillup frequency if you go past a synth's cap?
Example: skilling up on a lvl80 cap item.
If I'm 75+3+3, will I receive less skillups than being 75+3+2 or 75+3+1?

The general consesus is that your Base skill (75) will affect your skillrate while your Actual skill /(75+3+3) will only affect your break rate. If it were the other way around, then 75+3+3 on a lvl 80 synth would never ever give you a skillup.
Hm, I understand that you can still gain skillups after passing the cap with support/items. But just to clarify, I was wondering if the rate of getting skillups decreased if you passed the cap using support/items.Originally Posted by Freysi
I'm quite positive the skill-up rate is still only based on your base skill, and from what I've seen in 'my crafting' it really doesn't effect the rate much or at all to use support. On cheaper synths it is almost better to go with a lower skill (1-5 levels under cap) just because you can break on the synth, hopefully not lose all mats, and still get skill therefore saving you a little money. This is entirely up to you if you want to try it this way, but if it was a cheap NPC synth you would see me w/out support starting ~4 levels from the cap.Originally Posted by Aireiya
