you can get around bots if they all spawn claimed. the game has existing mechanics to do that.Originally Posted by Stolin

Claimed to a random person? Hmm, then it just means recruit the most people and get them to the zone... I don't like that any more than "cruise control"Originally Posted by layoneil
RMTs would still be able to abuse that system. Also, it would make the overcrowding issue worse.Originally Posted by layoneil
Meh, the main reason outdoor raid bosses in WoW work without much problem is that the loot from them is relatively quickly replaced.Originally Posted by Turtlesoup
That being said, I've done all there is to do on WoW at the moment, boring as fuck right now as with the way the game is setup (100% carrot on a stick), there is nothing for me to do. Not to mention that I'm finding FFXI much more fun versus what I actually do at the moment. Keep in mind I do not camp the three kings!
so what? why does an anti-botting measure have to be anti-RMT?Originally Posted by Stolin
overcrowding will get worse as more people level anyway, there are other steps that can be taken to minimize that.Originally Posted by Stolin
I'm sure you'll like it when over 400 people show up in the pit and Fafnir somehow spawns claimed to you but you can't act fast due to lag.Originally Posted by layoneil
I would hate this measure if it spawned claimed to a random person. Only way I see it now is to the Wyrm KSNM drop the same loot pool as Fafnir, or create a new BCNM for all the Kings to be fought for a rare chance at their item.
Better loot should come from KS99 Wyrm than Fafnir anyways already... If you don't have a real strategy for the KS fight, you're ass will get slaughtered. Not to mention, I'm sure they put the KS99 "kings" into the game for people to obtain black belt outside the means of claiming those ground kings. Was a great idea, except you can go through 1,000 Kindred Seals before you see a BB item, not to mention the mobs are totally different than there respective ground king. Wyrm is like a mini Tiamat, that bitch is brutal in the air. Like I said, if you don't have a good strat on it, see you again 99 seals... Whereas, a group of auction house players could kill any RoZ king with the slightest amount of research...Originally Posted by Khalil
It should be instanced imho. I can understand that concept behind what they originally created, but this isn't 2001 anymore. When they built the interstates in my city many years ago it was built for like 35x the capacity it currently needed. They just finished revamping the entire system due to congestion and overpopulation. That thought process can kind of apply to this as well if you think about it.
I hate to ruin a perfectly good joke, but what he meant was he makes aery look like his mog house, and puts his flag up while he's camping. That way it feels like he's actually "playing" instead of camping.Originally Posted by Septimus

In short, only the people who claim them.
