Time to world-shift?
I don't think its duping. Looking at the sell/buy history of the players mentioned, its all the same people buying off each other, then they trade the items back (in some cases) to resell. There's also Teasei and Jeekced to add to the list of people involved (probably more too). Unless when they are selling to each other to lower the price and they are putting it up for like 1 gil, they are probably soaking up a lot of AH fees in the process.
They are not item duping thats the dumbest thing i've ever heard. If you actually take a look at their histories they, as a previous poster said but most ignored, is they set prices low by buying back and forth from each other, buy up items, then set the price high, and sell them off.
This is 100% RMT. And they are Price gauging, not duping.
Also if you only realized this now, you are a little late. This happened for several months on Alexander, until they suddenly stopped on the major update of Aug. 27th. Where i presume they got banned. Up until then i had a running list of names:
Choos, Sio, Cicioo, Coni, Gleam, Saili, Kelm, Asukaa, Hedeiy, Bukyan, Hanicat, Meecha, Aukanhy, Delant, Dokuo, Komya, Qcandy, Moda, Soily, Jopak, Lunael, Gimo, Wille, Rishiku, Pikorg, Cranch, Nosoram, Amitage, Tensuke, Woltet, Dudley, Airelle, Tsugo.
Also a list of over 19 items that they monopolized, and their prices of buying and selling back:
Merman’s Earring, Maneater, Utsusemi: Ni, Melody Earring +1, Penitent’s Rope, Assault Earring, Fuma Sune-Ate Elusive Earring, Woodville’s Axe, Woodsman, Brown Belt, Chivalrous Chain, Fudo, Martial Anelace, Astral Ring, Hagun, Potent Belt, Jet Seraweels, Fuma Kyahan.
Though, since the 27th of August, they have been gone, but when I looked at FFXI the other day and saw they were back since the October 23rd, with many of the same names, only 13 this time:
Qcandy, Hellda, Porutat, Solair, Ghostty, Jagiant, Lanihyrt, Rookas, Askuaa, Aclavan, Fonzzy, Mackel, Llyanna.
This time focusing (so far) on:
Melody Earring +1, victory ring, woodsman ring, fuma sune-ate, sniper's ring, scouter's rope, merman's earring.
They have also improved their turn over time by, i presume, botting. Because if something is priced low, you can always see them buying quick and never allowing other to get. Once they gather 2-4 items, they will change the price history then sell theirs off. Once done, they will repeat the whole process. This has no doubt made them MILLIONS of gil. If they turn over all these items for double the price they paid every couple of days, it is crazy to think how much they are making through this. IMO its probably RMT's best gil making secret.
Yes these people are annoying, but since it takes forever for SE to stop being dumb fucks and realize they are basically the same names doing the same shit. While I wait for them to get banned, I atleast try to make some money off it (though difficult); I always check the AH and attemp to buy any of their low priced items, because i know in 1-3 days I will be able to turn it over for double the cost. So imo, ya we can tell GM's about them, but until they get banned, i kinda like 'em lol
Sorry for long post, tried to break it up :/
gd dupping was done like one time a long ass time ago and it was npc selling involved I've never in my life heard of a item being duped
Duping guy: yes 4 kc's now
SE:your fucked we keep logs on all items and the server amount
Duping guy:But it is true M/legs and Mazurka make you run fast right?
I continue to hope duping will never become prevalent in FFXI. Every RPG that has been afflicted with it is usually followed by it's subsequent demise...(PSO Anyone? BSOD! @.@)
Although, I do miss my dreamcast quite a lot (Too bad PSU for 360 sucked)...And yes, as the above mentioned, there's really nothing us players can do it's just wait for SE to sit back and realize whats going on. Till then however, profit of those lower priced items, :D .
Octy~
Yeah, this is a pretty ordinary practice for RMTs.Originally Posted by Tej
When you look at the price histories, Assault earring dropped in price to 120k, RMTs bought them out, thte the price was jacked up to 380k by selling to themselves, now people look at the short in game price history and think they are getting a deal buying them @ 250k. Another example is Eris' Earrings were 20k, RMTs bought them out, jacked up price to 100k, then reset the price at 50k.
When it works, RMTs make back all those auction fees, when it doesn't work, they end up losing a bundle. Just be smart and look at the FFXIAH price history when you are buying stuff.
If you want to add to that list:
Fonzzy
Jeekced
Nyammy
Porouro
Teaisei
on valefor we have someone like those posted above. My speculation is that this person is a selling mule for RMT because shortly after a ls mates account got hacked and stuff taken all the stuff he had missing was sold by Luckshop within a day or two. of course it could be coincidence, but some of this stuff was fairly rare and almost never is up on AH, so for 5 or 6 of those items to all go up at once seems a little more than chance.
There's a Luckshop on almost every server and every single one looks like it's selling gear from someones account.Originally Posted by sephir

What the hell is happening to Advanced Player Discussion? Some anonymous poster shows up and claims that people are duping items without any real proof? This is the cancer that's killing /bg/.
We need more discussions like the Almight Apkallu thread where people are trying to actually figure shit out, not more threads where anonymous assholes show up and yell "Hey you guuuuuuuuuys!" without getting their facts straight first.
Not every thread is going to be a new discovery...
I thought it was at least 'on topic' since it did have something to do with the state of the ffxi community. Also, I think at least some type of 'proof' was provided with those FFXIAH references... it's not like the guy said something like 'omg rmt outclaimed me for haste shoes for the 20th time today'. Maybe it's just me but there are a lot worse threads on this forum you could have posted this complaint on.
Also, I think most would agree that most the actual discoveries and helpful endgame event information on BG comes from the "Event Strategies" and "Newbie" Forums. "Advanced" seems to have become a place for very major discoveries (like say early AV kills), philosophical chatter (like 'how to run an HNM LS' or 'does anyone actually like endgame'), and drama (ffxiapp users, players faking being homosexual to get funding for aegis, etc.)
Sorry to bump this, but the AH RMT had a nice run from the 23rd to the 1st... but they already got banned again here on Alexander lol. Pretty funny that they got banned that fast, though they did name themselves almost the exact same names, guess that was the give away to the GM's![]()

This has been happening for quite sometime now on many, if not all servers. Its the same items except on Seraph they do Flame rings and woodville's as well and it sucks, they get banned every month. And within a week they are back at it again on the same items.
They look like they got banned on Odin too. Even if its not about duping, it's about someone actually noticing something about the players who are making prices fluctuate so rapidly (which is against the T.o.S.). I 'd like to believe my reporting and contacting a GM contributed to their banning on Odin. Also, a majority of Odin does in fact know who I am.
