POLCRASH

O K, I am running Vista. Thats my first problem. Now, In certain zones, Like Ve'Lugannon Palace, and Mount Zhayolm I get a window's error "POLCRASH" You know the kind, Like when you normally do "Ctrl-Alt-Del" This program has stopped responding, blablabla. Now what do you guy's think it is? I called POL Support twice, and they told me to Go into MSconfig and close up startup app's but that didn't work. I'm not losing full screen. Then the second time i called they were like, check your IP' shits. But I'm not getting R0. Other then that, I have a feeling it's a problem with my dat files, until like 10min ago, Now I get POLCRASH in Whitegate. Help me out! Thanks.

Check for spyware on your computer, install and run spybot s&d, Then tell your antivirus software to do an entire scan on your hdd. If it is still screwing up, I'd reinstall FFXI. Also, are you using the Vista version of playonline(http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/downlo ... sta01.html)?

Well, I downloaded that S&D. And, are you sure about reinstalling? because i never had a problem in aht urgan whitegate until yesterday. So maybe it is' the IP address's. But i have NO idea how to check my proxy setting's or w.e. Vista is so hard to figure out.

It might be your IP address, you can renew it from command prompt in windows. Go to Run, type in cmd. In command prompt type ipconfig /release . Then type ipconfig /renew . See if that does anything. Also try power cycling your router/modem. That's where you unplug the power to your cable modem/dsl modem and your router (if you are using one), wait about a minute or two, then plug everything back in starting with your modem.

Ok, well i Reinstalled FFXI. I'm still getting the problem. Also I tried the power on and off on my router and modem as well. I'm still getting error's. I also was on the phone with HP support, for 1hour on hold and another 30min of my time wasted with this Indian guy who i couldn't understand, and he finally said, I'm not trained on FFXI, so i cant help you. Bla. Waste of time. I'm going to call POL support again today, but they will probably say, I'm not sure. Ugh! This is so frustrating.
