There are all sorts of crazy rumors... finding the facts in a JP 2ch board is just a nightmare. Before Scholar was announced there were at least a dozen other fake announcements, including,

Onion Knight, Onion Mercenary, the Wrestler/Strongman, Swordsman, Galkan Prostitute, Geomancer, Time Mage, Magic Knight.

For one, Lanista, they even made a whole new thread for it, with background information.

Now the Scholar rumors are pouring in:

• Main weapon - dictionary, using the blunt corner to inflict damage[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• Uses Libra to detect enemy level and weakness[/*:m:1jyyub0u]

• Will probably be a tank job[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• Doesn't use magic[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• Combines items to produce new effects[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• Can stack items previously un-stackable[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• Will be a customizable job that can support or heal[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• Relic weapon will be a Comiket Catalogue[/*:m:1jyyub0u]
• 2 hour ability: Death Note[/*:m:1jyyub0u]

The most reasonable rumors, which are mixed in with all the junk, say that it will use a "Study" command to learn about monsters and such. Then it can use abilities to predict what the monster will do next, such as what ability or weapon skill it will use. This could include the study of other jobs and settings, giving it the ability to buff party members in unique ways.

I'm sure it will be reworked so it is unlike previous Scholars. Any how anything is up for grabs on how this job works, but I would like to point out one thing, that book spell / JA is done in town without any monsters around, so we can conclude it has atleast some form of self buffs or party buffs (Well it could be other things also like an AOE thing but I doubt it.)

Btw is that a graduation cap with a tassel on her?
