Of course Scholars are from Bastok. Hasn't it been said throughout several story lines that Bastok has the science market cornered? According to the Windy storyline, Tarus had magic handed to them (I forget by whom). I think the story behind Scholar is that they stumbled upon it the hard way (through science).

Well assuming we're getting jobs based on cities:

Dancer= Bastok because thats where the dance school was
Scholar= Windurst because thats where the scholars are, they have a library and all

so all we need now is a Sandy job and possibly a Jeuno job xD and just for the sake of making more job why not throw in a Tavnazia job We will be getting a tank because SE said they'll add jobs according to what we need and tank is the role we need the most

"There are also various spells that come unique to Scholar. One allows you to change the designated weather for a target party member. Another causes a great amount of DoT damage. Weather changing magic may not seem like much, but it is great for accommodating preferred spells in battle."

Don't think so. You know how all the BLMs love double thunder weather on lightningsday when fighting Fafnir? Sounds like Scholar will be able to give them that, regardless of the actual weather conditions.

if anything, could maybe be the unfortunate death blow to geomancer, thats something i would have seen geo utilize not scholar, i mean its not everything geomancer could do obviousally but i would think if gonna give a job that could alter weather it would be geo

if it's true then:

dancer - bastok (said so in the storyline)
scholar - windurst (involves magic)
viking - sandoria (comes from the north)

Actually, better than that. One of the Tarutaru by the Hat Shop in Windurst now bemoans the vanishing of the "combat scholars" after the war.

Seeing one new job open in each of the three cities would be appropriate. Dancer in Bastok, Scholar in Windurst, and ??? in San d'Oria. Elvaan Vikings would be kinda awesome, actually.

I honestly think Scholar is SE's way of giving us Geomancer, in a less asstastic way than Puppetmaster was their way of giving us Necromancer.
