i wouldnt buy a guitar hero till it came with a wireless guitar, guitar hero 3 did and i bought it. rock band comes with a wired guitar. i wont be buying the INFERIOR guitar. more buttons does not make it superior.

You can still play guitar lol... anyways, the way they said it is the main game (the songs on the game that come with it) are so everyone can play them, they didnt pick a lot of songs from one genre because they didn't want to alienate anyone that can't do the dlc. But as far as dlc goes they can obviously do niche markets and they said they were going to, also, they aren't going to censor any songs because they said they want to be true to the music.
I didn't say it was superior because it had more buttons, I'm saying it's better built. If that's the case then, you can buy the game by itself, play guitar with the GH3 guitar, then buy whatever seperate peripherals you want. OR wait till they release the wireless guitar early next year, you have about 50 different choices, you don't HAVE to buy the bundle/wired guitar, so stop pretending like that's the only option.Originally Posted by izembo

That argument is so stale, you can use that for pretty much anythingplaying games != doing the real thing
that song list seems more of a late 90's early 00 focus of alternative rock, with pumpkins, nirvana, soundgarden etc in there, which in my opinion is the glory days of modern rock.as for buying, no wii version, so i'm shut out![]()
They said they were going to make a wii version, not 100% sure about it though. Nintendo really needs to make some kind of hard drive you can add on to the Wii so they can have dlc that's more than 512 mb but I hope for your sake they actually do make a Wii version >.<
It was a serious question, however, your retort fails. Playing football outdoors relies on suitable space and weather.Originally Posted by ertyu

I understand where you're coming from but that question can't really be answered. Why not? Playing guitar hero or rock band doesn't translate to doing the real things. I would say I'm pretty fucking good at guitar hero but I can't play the real guitar for shit, and to play real guitar it requires a lot of something I, along with many people don't have: money and time
Just about every single musician that I know that is younger than 42 has guitar hero. Myself included, and some of those musicians are guitarists. I play several different instruments, I'm not limited to guitar, but even so the game and real guitar are alot different, a real lot. The old GH2 guitar makes my hand stretch in ways that I'm not used to even after playing guitar for 10+ years. It is completely different. For a videogame where things dont = real life, it's alot more interactive, and more social than most others. This is what makes both GH and Rockband great.Originally Posted by Shuemue
Sorry, but it was something that was really stupid and pointless to bring up in any videogame thread period. Couldn't you call someone, or go talk to other friends instead of posting on a forum for your discussions?
Anyway, back to the thread about rockband, and not about whether you could do something in real life instead of playing it on a tv:
I actually like the setlist on rockband better. I wouldn't have handpicked all of those songs for either game (gh/rockband) myself, but there is alot of songs on GH that I just really really can't stand. Pearl Jam? God fuck that shit. I'd play that song with the sound off.
Boyiee, instead of being a cunt, why didn't you just make a serious response? I clarified that I was making a serious question about not getting it, and you come back with that pompous shit?
The first part of my post was if you were asking a serious question, so I gave a serious reply:
The rest was for if you were in fact just posting something stupid, or if anyone else tagged along. Guess you were being serious, sorry. I still expected others to jump on the "get a real guitar" bandwagon though.Just about every single musician that I know that is younger than 42 has guitar hero. For those of you who for whatever reason hate rock band, there might not be a next "guitar hero"
Drum hero, keyboard hero, drum villain, guitar villain, band hero all copyrighted by activision/red octane. And while GH3 was focused on slash, whatever the next game is going to be focuses on Aerosmith.
dont even know if i'd care about another guitar hero, dont exactly need tons of them when its just gonna be something fun to play now and then
I personally don't think there should be another GH.
The guitar itself is perfect, the game setup is perfect, having a GH4 would just be a cash in.
What would be nice is if they keep this setup and just keep releasing DLC for years to come.
We'll see what happens.
This statement made me lol, activision only cares about money, and they already cashed in on GH3 with all the fucking sponsors in the game that they didn't have in the first 2. Playing one level I see a gum advertisement, red bull advertisement, pontiac advertisement and an axe body spray advertisement. They already sold out, the only reason they didn't before is because harmonix refused to, but now that activision owns neversoft, they do what they are told to.Originally Posted by Po
I agree with you completely that they only care about $ ... I only said that because it would be ideal if it did happen.
And you have to admit there really is no reason for a GH4 or a RB2 ... they could essentially be a console on their own in a way and then content just gets released.
I realize the chances of it are slim to none, but again it would be cool if it happened nonetheless.
Well according to harmonix they have no plans to make a rock band 2 and just do dlc... guitar hero though, not a chance in hell. But yes, I agree, there really isn't a need. Activision would just need to change how they do the DLC (i.e not release them in 3 song packs) and they wouldnt need another guitar hero. THey did a good job with this one (as far as game mechanics/guitar build) goes
We have this set up at work, It seems pretty fun so far. Drums are badass guitar is pretty savage but we have had it out for like a week and the strum bar is pretty much broken to all hell. I like the 'solo' frets though its entertaining to go down there for solo's. The drums are obscenely fun, I can't wait to get it just to fuck around with friends from work.. and also to own One on drums. Gonna be fun.
