And Simple Man. <3<3<3 .... not gonna get message in a bottle, got enough of that song when I played gh2.
Message in a Bottle is reallllly fun on drums
I stopped playing the drums somewhere in the middle of the Hard career songs, it got too hard and frustrating and I prefered to get better at guitar than try and push myself into expert with drums.
But Expert Drums > Expert Guitar by like 100000000 =(
Not if you can play guitar really well but play HARD drums really bad. Maybe I need some of those mods to get back into drumming, but i've really been against it for a while now, I dunno why... I really liked it while I played it on easy/medium for all its worth, it just got really frustrating really fast, and I just don't know how to get past that tier of songs i've been stuck on.
    Practice.

Being a percussionist, I love playing the rock drums because it gives me something to do to keep my skill up. It's been a shame that my school's orchestra has no room for a percussionist. Only thing I could wish for is if they added a no kick pedal mode, which added more notes to the toms, make it like a marching setup, since playing on a set is much harder for me because of marching band drilling into my mind when to step on certain beats, sucks hitting stuff off beat because of that habit.

    Re: Rock Band!

Hitting the right stuff is not my problem, hitting them while hitting the fucking bass is my big issue. I can't seem to separate the bass from the actual music, so I have to actually pay attention to the lines. And if I pay attention to the lines, I don't pay attention to the notes as much, which makes it a big clusterfuck and I just end up failing. The one I'm stuck on right now is Foreplay and its tier on Hard. I've been playing the DLC for a while and did get better, but ...

A: I can't stand most of the career songs, DLC is much better but doesn't really get me anywhere both in terms of skill and terms of achievements.
B: I just want to move on to expert honestly, but I tried playing the easiest songs on expert and barely passed them with 3 stars.

And just to mention, I 5 star'd every single song on my first try both on Easy and on Medium, which is why this is so frustrating.

I'd rather keep getting better at guitar though.. it's more fun imo (might be because I haven't played any expert drums yet, but yeah..)

same boat here...hell I think I even got to the same difficulty as you lol

But when I see someone really good at drums, I have a lot more respect for them than someone good at guitar

I agree. Then again I don't even try to be competitive, I just play for fun. I am getting better but it's only because I play gh/rb 1-2 hours daily. Hell I was in the top 10 for NIB for a while (knocked down to 13 last I checked heh) after playing it 2-3 times. Ironically, I haven't beaten that score since. >.>

Also, I'm done with the stratocaster... I never use the solo buttons anyways because I do better on the upper frets, and after playing gh for like a week straight i've started liking the les paul a lot more.

Biggest thing when playing drums, memorizing the syncopation, I play once through reading, then I go back a second time if I hit some shaky part with the bass. First thing I did was cranked up tom sawyer on expert to test the timing on my TV, and to see the difference from the demo. Completely fucking failed because:

    A. I suck balls at playing trap (drum set)
    B. I ignored my #1 rule about drumming, and that's to groove with what you're playing.

Second time through I picked up the line, and was able to pass the song. Biggest thing hindering me on trap set is the fact I mark time with my bass pedal foot, while keeping time in my head, which sorta makes things hard, especially after being trained to do a verbal mark time with the rest of my line to keep tempo across the field.

That said, I enjoy the guitar alot too, and I have plenty of respect for great guitarists, because I fucking suck at playing RL guitar, and im semi-decent at it in GH/RB.

These songs can be picked up individually for $1.99 (160 MS Points). And here they are:

The Mother Hips – “Red Tandy” (MASTER)

The Mother Hips – “Time Sick Son of a Grizzly Bear” (MASTER)

    Smashing Pumpkins – “Zero” (MASTER)

This week's tracks will *not* be available as a pack, and must be downloaded separately.

Why is that awful? Smashing Pumpkins are a pretty good band, and plus I thought Time We Had was a good song. >_>?

I'm not bashing the pumpkins, that song isn't that great though.

And i've never even heard of that other band, and after listening to those songs on youtube I don't really care about any DLC this week.

I dunno, Zero's pretty decent. I'd probably grab it, depending on the chart when I can see it.

So the Mother Hips' songs are surprisingly awesome!
Red Tandy has a really cool jam on all instruments and Time-Sick Son looks like fun on guitar. Probably gonna pick up all three songs sometime
