This is an argument that gets rehased over and over again on BG and still isn't a valid one. Just because an extremely shitty concept is executed well doesn't mean the final product is a good thing.

Observe:
Meet the Spartans is not a good movie just because it was designed with the lowest stratum of society in mind.
G.I. Joe is not a good movie because it was designed as a summer blockbuster.

Rock Band 2 is an absolutely fantastic example of video game design and execution. I bought RB 2 and was delighted that I could 1) import the songs from RB1 I had already paid for, and 2) continue expanding my library through DLC. DLC is the fundamental core of the RB platform, and The Beatles not only deprives itself of this essential element but also restricts RB owners from utilizing the songs they've ALREADY PAID FOR. Just because RB: The Beatles may a concept that's executed well for what it is doesn't mean it's a good buy or even worth buying.

I didn't buy Beatles so that I could play other bands. I bought it so that I could play Beatles music.

Plus, look at games like Guitar Hero: Aerosmith or Metallica. All of those aren't exclusively Aerosmith and Metallica hits.

Your argument fails on a couple levels.

1) if you already paid for the DLC then you own either RB or RB2 therefore you are not being deprived of it. If you want to play it pop in one of those games. DLC is game exclusive, it is downloadable content for that game. RB:Beatles is a separate game it is its own game with its own DLC. Like has been mentioned before it is a game centered around 1 particular band and only that band, the WHOLE point of the game is to play music from that band.

2) your analogy fails because those movies are just terrible, they are terrible concepts and they were poorly executed. RB:Beatles is a proven concept (see the success of other RB games) and they took that formula and applied it to wait for it..... ONE BAND.

The only thing you got correct is that just because RB:Beatles is well executed and follows a formula that works doesn't mean it is worth buying or a good buy, guess what there is one piece missing. You have to be a Beatles fan!.

Like I said before you are retarded if you expected anything other than the Beatles. The game has the name in its title. They are not advertising one thing and then selling you another. They tell you what to expect in how it is named. Either you can't read or you are retarded if you think you are getting anything more.

If you don't like the Beatles then don't buy it. Otherwise if you like the Beatles then buy it. And if you want more then the Beatles then buy a generic title with a mix of music.

Again the equivalent to what you are doing is ordering a cheese burger and getting angry when your cheese burger doesn't have a slice of pizza in between the buns on top of the patty.

Edit: I am not saying you cannot like the game. I was just pointing out the flaw in disliking it simply because you cannot play other bands on it.

I totally missed the point of Beatles Rock Band and have absolutely nothing better to do but whine about it.

ftfy. The entire game was meant to be a tribute to The Beatles. The songs, the backgrounds, the characters, even the harmonies were meant specifically as a tribute. This wasn't a track pack add-on, it was a completely new game, built around The Beatles. Don't like The Beatles? You're not going to like the game. Pretty simple I think.

And yea, you can't do three part harmonies online. I am disappoint, but I still love the game to death so far. I feel kind of pathetic. I could do What I've Done on expert mode but I couldn't even do Eight Days A Week on hard. XD

Sorry if I wasn't clear on my post; I'm upset that actual guitar is a righty(pick guard on the wrong side, etc). I know you can change the way you play in the game.

The lovely people over at Sub Pop have responded to our request for more information on the upcoming Flight of the Conchords track pack for Rock Band with some exclusive information.

The 3 tracks will consist of 2 songs from the bands self titled debut album along with a track from their upcoming album ‘I Told You I Was Freaky’, but they are unsure at this moment as to whether they will be released as a pack or only as individual songs. The aim to have the tracks released around the time that the new album releases on October 20th, with the songs being released via the new Rock Band Network feature. Interestingly, the RBN was mooted for a November general release so maybe Sub Pop know something we don’t.

Finally we asked what the feasibility was of seeing the entire first album make its way onto RBN in the future, to which we were old that it will depend on the success of these first tracks. So there you have it folks, if you want more than 3 FotC tracks in Rock Band then vote with your wallet when these release next month.
