    iPod in-ear headphones

    Hi,

I'm looking for a good pair of iPod in-ear/canalphones. The max I'm willing to pay is ~$150. Sound quality is (obviously important), as is sound insulation. No earbuds, please, hate those ;x. I've basically narrowed it down by brand to Shure and Sennheiser, but I'll consider other brands too.

I like my v-moda Vibes quite a bit. Around $90 as well.

Edit: Those v-moda earbuds are pretty epic.
Edit2: Holy shit, $101.00 for earbud headphones, rofl. These things better be epic for that price.

I've had the Sony MDR-EX71SLA for awhile now. I'm no audiophile, but they sound and fit great.

Bose any good? I was thinking of picking up a new set of in-ear ones since my last pair died out.

See if you can find a place that will let you demo them.. or has a liberal return policy like Fry's.

Bose make some of the best audio equipment you can get. It is very $$$.

I have some expensive noise canceling ones and they are the best things i own.

Almost all the more expensive in-ear headphones have those cushions you remove.. thought it'd make demoing either. I dunno!

Unless the iPod can play lossless audio, its kind of pointless. :\
But yea, Shure and Sennheiser are a very good choice.

I have v-moda vibes and love them. Can get them off amazon.com for about 70$. They also have the best customer service- I had to return mine after they became an accidental chew toy for the cats and in less than a week I had a new pair without having to send any proof of purchase.

    Re: iPod in-ear headphones

I've never tried headphones more expensive than 10 bucks or so, does it really make a difference just out of curiosity, do I have to have to be listening to something in particular for it to be beneficial? I use the iPod headphones which came with mine and I haven't had any trouble hearing what comes out through them :/

The end all be all of in ear headphones.

    Shure SE530 Sound Isolating Earphones

Found a pair of these at work a few years ago and tried them out. Filled my ear canals perfectly, felt very comfortable in my ears and the sound isolation worked amazingly well. I never really listen to MP3 players that much so I ended up selling them for $350 to a coworker.

$500 for earphones.. yeah, I'll pass. If I was a DJ or something maybe, but earphones are fail for that price no matter how good they are.

    Re: iPod in-ear headphones

I bought a pair of Sennhauser in-ear ones, cost me around $60 (£30), bass is really good, they're loud and block out sound really well. CX300W is the model number, I highly reccomend them.
