Re: Altana Festival in Osaka: Super Ultimate Complete Guide +1

It wont stop me from using windower macros, because lets face it, changing every gear piece in one button press and not having to change macro pallets at all is fantastic, but for the people that don't use windower it should make it far, far easier to maximize your capabilities. Especially in the case of people with many jobs, there simply isn't room to change every piece of relevant gear for every situation currently, but if you have 4000 macros available to you, you can make far more than you will ever need for any job.

Would more than 6 lines per macro be much, much better? Absolutely, no question. Does that mean this isn't quite useful as a stop gap? No way. I have macros backed up to use when they break windower and they are a pain in the arse, they are incredibly crowded and they don't change nearly as much gear as they should. With that many macros per job, I can easily recreate my current windower macros, albeit in more button presses per action, accurately.

    Back to TH!

Say you're farming and your friend 75 thf has to go afk. Can the thief /heal & go afk.

Generally if you do a ranged attack that misses & drag mob all the way back to camp, the mob will smack a healing member so I assume it generates enmity. Assuming the mob has no AoE attack, you can still farm this way & have TH active??

any idea what the sub boss for floor 1 in zhayolm?

im thinking clear 1 wing and pop/kill a porrogo gent on the first floor to spawn the madame?
    if its like having to pop all 4 gents, with no gear/magic, thats gonna be kinda lame, unless the madame drops lvl35 stuff D;

I'm under the (probably misguided?) opinion that when something smacks you while you're resting, you don't actually have hate, it's just being a little bitch.

Note the fact that things don't claim to you if you're /heal-ing and the mob smacks you - there may be a subtle distinction here between 'enmity' and 'the monster just being a PoS' that would make TH -not- fire off in that circumstance.

Once the Thief actively puts their self on the hate list, they can seriously uninstall the game and return it to Best Buy and the party will still receive the bonuses from Treasure Hunter. It doesn't matter if the Thief kills it, or the Automaton two parties over in the Alliance kills it.
So basically, what this means is:

    1. tank vokes mob
    2. THF/WHM casts cure 1 on tank
    3. Treasure Hunter 4 is activate
    4. ???
    5. Profit!

Actually inviting the THF to the alliance is so 2004.

P.S. Traveling TH services now available. Turn your blockaid off and, for a nominal fee, I will cast my magical TH spell on you.

For people like me who actively pay 9 jobs (blm takes up 2 pallets) and need more room before lving another job.
I play on about 6 jobs and I'm full already.. =(

So looking forward to the additional slots.

I wouldn't really go as far as saying curing a person gives them TH. Take for example PLing someone. The mob will hit you but the only way you'll gimp the person's xp is if you hit the mob or join their pt (can't remember if blaze spikes has the same effect).

So, thieves could still be getting some party action maybe

Some mobs aggro resting. 'Passively' aggroing would be Linking (IE: Dynamis). If a mob aggros a resting person, it will attack that PC until another PC does something to it. Punch it once, /ma "Tickle" <t> it, anything will pull hate but the aggro-ed player will still be on the hate list.

All in all, the concert included seven different songs.

The highlight was no doubt the three consecutive solos by pianist Tanioka Kumi. The Chains of Promathia and Shadow Lord themes were especially beautiful as piano arrangements, and the Field Music for Wings of the Goddess did an exceptional job of conveying the sorrow of traversing those horrid battlefields. As a composer on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates, among other Square Enix works, Tanioka Kumi awed all in attendance with her skill on the piano.

Lead member, Mizuta Naoshi, had this to say, “Wings of the Goddess has many songs used to paint a picture of the conflict waged 20 years ago. A soundtrack is planned, but we wish for players to experience its impact in the game before releasing it for sale.”

The concert lasted close to an hour, and was accompanied by the final Talk Section. The soundtrack for Wings of the Goddess should go on sale sometime early next year.
Words cannot express how much I actually want to listen to this.

You can join a lowbie PT mid-fight and not ruin their xp. The only condition is that nobody causes any enmity-generating actions on the mob while you're in it.

But in a PL you're outside pt. If you're in the alliance fighting, and generate enmity, the effect is there, even if after you leave the alliance/pt. That's how I read it.

    Also, in response to this:

That's how I'm reading it. One single server will get the telepoint...
Outpost teleporting was originally one single world as well, wasn't it? And later given to all.. so there is still hope. As long as it's not an event only teleport, but it really doesn't sound like that.

Outpost teleporting were a world-wide event in which you had to complete to grant your server/world the ability to outpost warp (however 2 world almost didn't get it and SE had to expand the time in order for them to complete the event and gain the OP warps)

Outpost teleporting was actually going to be given to any world that was able to defeat all the Treants back when those things were roaming vana'diel. The reason all worlds ended up getting it was because GMs helped the worlds who were lagging behind. I can't remember if any worlds actually didn't succeed, but it was still something possible for all worlds to get, there was no world-against-world competition.

Edit: Beaten, that's what I get for taking 8 minutes to read a page eh? Also, they extended the time? Crazy lol.

Maybe there will still be more than 6 lines? The Book 1-20 deal sounds like switching our macro pallets will be more of an active process rather than just <CTRL>+<UP>, etc. Keeping only 1 book in memory would address some memory issues, freeing up space for more lines depending how the size of a book compares to what we have now.

I'm excited to have entirey pallets dedicated towards my jobs.

As of now I have to share a few key BLM and RDM macros, and rdm overlaps some of my THF aswell.

Dedicating sets towards the jobs would let me have enough room to have even "situational sets" like Dynamis / Salvage (for example, salvage cure pallet would have Lambda sash on while a -enmity cure set can bring out the Errant and other stuff).

The size of a book will be the exact same size as we have now in terms of macro sets (10 sets, with 20 buttons on each). They're just multiplying what we have now by 20 books, with us currently having 1 book.
