Only 2 jobs? Gaaaaay.
Only 2 jobs? Gaaaaay.
At least the job list window will stay even.![]()
that's dumb. you throw 10 million in the lotto for a rdm af2 hat and it switches to war af2 body on you. We're closing in on a final concept to implement soon. Something where the item changes as more and more gil enters the pot.
For now, just call your friends inside. It's up to the individual to do whatever they've always wanted. (laughs)
Oh well, 3 jobs would have been nice, but atleast Scholar has alot of potential. It's looking to be a viable sub and possibly a badass main.
We have that now. More lines is much more critical than anything else.Originally Posted by Delekii
Agreed. Gil is too valuable these days for the bulk of the FFXI population to throw it away on such things. The item/prize needs to be set prior to the gil investment process or people simply won't do it without having some rediculous income through crafting or IGE.Originally Posted by aru
So only the 2......sorry kids, Scholar didn't offer me enough to choose it....so cover your eyes, Galka Dancer it is.
Actually, LOL You pretty much agree. I said more macro sets is nice, but its not what is going to get people to stop using Windower and on balance more macro sets isn't as important as lines. My point was that without more lines, the number of new macro sets is irrelevant.Originally Posted by Arkanna
from reading this, heres hoping they're still hiding the best for last >.>Q: When balancing together 20 jobs, didn't you consider the shortage of tank jobs?
A: We don't have much to say about that at this time.
There was certainly a lot of debate during development, but it's hard to explain...
There was talk from the very beginning of making a "tank job," as its called. Basically, we couldn't make a whole new job around that concept... it's hard to give you a complete answer right now.
It didn't help that the Treants were initially bugged to have such an immense regen rate as to be unkillable, which is why they added extra time.Originally Posted by Liquidedust
With Dancer healing as well as being on the front lines doing damage, I'm wondering if we'll even need a "tank" anymore. At low levels, pretty much anyone can be taking damage and not cause too much of an MP shortage. It'd get difficult above 45 or so until about 60, when melees can sub SAM for Seigan/Third Eye, with only NIN being a viable subjob for the melees in a tankless party, but maybe doable.
With Paladin as a tank, and only 2 DDs, you generally need a BLM to keep pace pre-55/60ish. With NIN as a tank, that's 3 melees, and you can get away without a BLM. I wonder if it'd be possible to form parties such as Dancer, Red Mage, Bard, and 3 Damage Dealers with some form survivability (again, thinking lower levels when tanks are actually used).
Personally, I'll be leveling Dancer when the expansion comes out, and my wife is leveling Scholar, so we're hoping to form some cool new party setups with that.![]()
i mean it would it made of ultimate win if they were just all like surprise you got punked jkjkjk wwwwwww and showed a new tank job at the fanfest but thats highly doubtful. i guess deep down inside of me though even though i want a third job i guess i kind of really want more that neither dancer or scholar blows and that they can clean up corsair, blue mage, and especially puppetmaster too.
Recently while leveling BRD through QSC I had a PLD/NIN BST/NIN SAM/NIN RNG/NIN BLU/NIN BRD/WHM party. I actually only had to Ballad myself every other fight (Hume btw, 3 MP merits gave me about 140ish MP total.), the BLU and PLD ran over to get Ballad when they needed/wanted it and helped with curing. We were getting 10k/hr with no exp band, our limiting factor was indoor repop times and the AoE slow from the spiders.
It's already completely possible to dp the above suggested things and if Dancer and Scholar end up being good, it may even make the lower levels more bearable.
here's hoping!Originally Posted by Gippo
I kind of agree, but always caution people about NIN as a tank/DD at lower levels. NIN's damage is overall pretty meh below Jin. I don't know why I am nit-picking I understand your point about how a Dancer can adjust the dynamics of a party drastically depending upon their abilities.Originally Posted by Wizerd

[Insert everyone complaining because that really ended up no different than a Dynamis run.]
I think it's more along the lines of
Small amount of gil - crappy item
Fair amount of gil - okay item
Large amount of gil - awesome item
I don't think it'll visibly change for everyone to see as the lottery progresses, but but selected after the fact from a pool of prizes based on the final pot.
I know that post directly above me is a joke, though.![]()
The whole lottery concept seems to be so broken to begin with...they should just stick with Gil prizes.![]()
