I don't think the bastok OP is as useless as it's made out to be.

On the line of thought on usefulness for it's nation, bastok's OP is more useful to bastok than Sandy to Sandy and Windy to Windy, since it's so far from the city and sits on the zoneline to an important place, Konshtat! Saves a big walk if you wanna OP "to konshtat" and not go through the dunes to do so.

It's not very useful for other nations to have if they plan on travelling to bastok though.

It should be possible to do a take over with less than 1M gil now. Just trade right before conquest tally so people don't screw up your effort.
Perhaps 20-30 elemental staves? Maybe a little bit more. In short, all you need is a mule with the load of items to trade and about 15 min just before the tally to unload the items on the NPC. I estimate the cost to be about 500k actually nowadays.

I organized a takeover back in 2005 on Pandemonium if some people still remembered. A lot of people chipped in so its not an individual effort. But then we were dumb and started like 3-4 days in advance. Those "oh so loyal" people tried to undo our efforts by doing reverse trading. It didn't stop us, but it drove up the cost.

When I first started doing OPs Bastok had Saru, I didn't realize how rare it really was back then. Ive been waiting years now for a bastok takeover of Ronf. It will likely never happen though.

Well if anyone on Bahamut wants to make ronf and sara bastok ops, please feel free. I'd /clap every time I see you 8) Had a party fall apart Sunday when several members saw Windy had taken ronf and gustaberg, almost fell off my chair when I heard the news and actually did fall back when I realized it was true.
