    Headsets

Just wondering what headsets people use for their PC and their Xbox360's.

The one I use for PC isn't too bad, it's actually a PS3 headset, but my 360 one actually starts to hurt my ear after a while.

This is what I'm using for PC: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... l%26sa%3DN
    http://www.keepgaming.com/images/vid...g/NXP2-037.jpg

    And this is what I'm using for 360: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... l%26sa%3DN

So what do you guys use? Wireless would be nice for 360 (doesn't really matter for PC) But I do fear a latency or a recharge issue with these, also they are super expensive. I suppose I could spend more If i only bought one that I could use for both 360 and PC, or I could just deal with the PC one and spend more on the 360 one since it's the least comfortable. I've been reading lots of reviews but I really rather hear actual first hand opinions and whenever I bring it up to any sales rep they just try and sell me shit obviously lol. Any suggestions?

I know this isn't really technical support, but it is kinda related to PC things, and I didn't want to start another thread in general or Hijack a 360 or Headphone thread.

    Re: Headsets

The route I wanted to go was to buy a wireless 360 headset for both my bro's 360 and my PC (I got a USB dongle that allows me to use any 360 wireless peripheral on my PC), problem was, the stupid thing barely picked up anything I said, even with the +20db boost and the microphone volume being maxed out.

Everyone on the receiving end said I sounded like I was talking extremely softly, which doesn't help in Counter-Strike when people can't hear you above all the gunfire.

So yeah, basically, I guess I'm in the same boat as you, looking for something that works.....my current means of a 'head-set' is my eye-toy camera, which I got setup as my microphone atm. <.<
(you can tell I'm cheap due to using my console peripherals rather than purchasing a dedicated piece of hardware 'eh?)

    Re: Headsets

Personally, I use a logitech USB headset which has been working great since I bought it bout 3 months ago. Their comfortable to wear for extended periods, has a convient mute button, and can be plugged in and going in bout 3 seconds. It's a tad on the pricey side though @ 40-50 bucks, but well worth the investment imo.

    Re: Headsets

Which one is that? After reading some websites I also found that my 360 headset is one of the highest rated and called "the most comfortable headset" lol. Sometimes if noones talking it'll have a sharp low volume ringing sound thats probably making me go deaf, and after about an hour it hurts my ear cause its a plastic freaking earpiece.

I was looking ath the wireless microsoft one, but if its the same one Kaisha was talking about, then I cant use it for both PC and 360, but at least it sounds like it'll be nice for my 360 which is the one I need to replace the most. My PC one is still comfortable, I just don't like it for stupid reasons and wouldn't mind replacing it.

    Re: Headsets

I was looking at that one, I don't think there is a way for me to use it on 360 without a USB extender though, which wouldnt be too bad. The link to the 350 premium right below it: http://ads.justrelevant.com/product_det ... id=7659322 is a headset I used to use and I hated. For some reason, I guess it has noise cancelling or something, but it was so silent that after a while it was irritating. Hard to explain the strange feeling it gave me after a period of time, but I had to take it off of at least one ear or something because of it.

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php? ... e=Logitech I have these ones, but I changed the padding on the ear piece with the padding from my senheissers. They're incredibly comfy now, I wouldn't buy them without it though

Yeah those are a pair I used to have that I posted in my last post. I forget how they broke, but you mentioning the ear padding thing is probably the problem I had with them. They were great until they gave me that uncomfortable feeling, oh, and they were HOT it was like wearing a sweater on my head with those ear pieces. I do love logitech so I'll probably get either those (if i can change the ear padding) or Kimiko's for my PC, really not sure if you can use them on 360 though, do you guys know if they'll work through the 360 usb?

    Re: Headsets

I suppose if they dont, I can return them. They aren't "In-ear" or anything like that. I was going to go the wireless route with the 360 but if i can use one sick headset for both then It doesn't matter.

There's got to be a decent wireless headset out there that isn't BlueTooth and doesn't cost $150.......
(Can't stand wired after I ran over both my old Logitech headset's cords about a 100 times with my chair)

    lol I've done the same.

Alot of the headsets I look up are made for sound as well, which is the least of my concerns. These huge DJ-like headphone that boast supreme sound quality for hearing footsteps or something in an FPS game, I just want a replacement for vent since I play all my sounds through my speakers. There are some sick ones on newegg but again, the majority of the highest rated or best selling ones are all sound first.
