With the US event starting Nov 15th, and we have two WotG updates before then(Nov 5th and Nov 12th), S-E is aware we can datamine. It's *unlikely* that S-E would announce any new jobs after they perform the updates, cause the updates may have spoiler information for any announcement they choose to make.

Based on the udpate schedule, only two jobs seems to be reasonable. If more jobs are released, I wouldn't complain, but BRP is probably correct in asserting that two jobs will be it.

They could very well announce a new job between the 5th and the 12th?

Lungo-Nango was the "father" of the Grimoire, and there's already flavor text in Windurst about "combat scholars" from the town NPC ninja-update. So if it's going to start, maybe there instead.

Didn't SE say MONTHS in advance before like right after WoTG was announced, they realized we wanted a tank? Then the development team gives us Dancer and Scholar? I mean I'm interested in Dancer and Scholar, (good luck Whitemages SE obviously hates you) but out of 20 jobs, only 2 real tanks, a ton of crudey DD? Balance please.

This expansion seems kind of rushed for sure (last batch of ToAU missions also ), they have barely even talked about it.

I'd love to see that quote that states only 2 jobs will be released .. please share. It has been said that there will be more than one ... and looking at the passed 2 expansions that did release jobs ... we got 3 apiece (RoZ gave us NIN SAM DRG ..... ToAU BLU PUP COR). If I remember correctly ... they had mentioned there would be a mage type ... enfeebling/support type and a tank type job released .... looks like we got the mage and enfeebling/support.

I'm guessing it's S-E trying to come up with a new tank concept that works, and having trouble doing so in a balanced manner. We're at 20 jobs here, folks. Fitting new ones in and coming up with concepts that don't break the game has gotta be tough.

That being said, I'm disappointed. Seeing a Viking or Brawler job for a new tank would be a great addition, and one I hope we get as soon as possible. Then again, seeing if we can have some of the bloodtanking stuff fixed (certain stats falling off in effectiveness at higher levels) would help before then.

They way I read it was:
2 jobs this time,
as in this time = this expansion,
not as,
2 jobs at this time

because I think there definetly would of been an AT somewhere in there, I mean I hope there's more but all signs point to No

If they fix Bloodtanking the tank problem becomes minuscule with jobs like SAM, BLU, and WAR, and maybe even DRK and DRG, subbing PLD or WAR. I'm speaking of exp mostly though. RDM could easily be turned into a tanking job. I really hope that's the direction they go with.

So really, this game could have been balanced with 15 jobs, let alone 20. They just need to make pre-ToAU jobs as adaptive.


And uh... Scholar originated in Windurst. It was only revised by Bastok.

Seriously though, I like the idea of Scholar...but I might level Dancer if they can wear Usukane. It's gonna be a matter of what gear they can wear that I already have/how expensive gear I don't have is, for me.

Just so people stop trying to say otherwise, there's no mistake whatsoever that in the original Japanese they mean two jobs this time around. Please stop reading into the translation. If someone lied/didn't know what they were talking about and we see a third one at Fan Festival, so be it, but it's really clear in that answer.
