By the way, I forget how it was with ToAU, but if you're in-game when the expansion is turned on, do you have to relog or will the NPCs all of a sudden appear out of thin air and give you the quest to get to the past?

The NPC was in Jeuno, and when it was turned, on just talk to him. Wait maybe we did have to relog on, I don't remember >.> I just remember waiting for a few hours in lag ridden tenshodo.

From what I remember, the NPC was loaded in the pre-expansion update and had some dialog, but nothing more. Once the unlock time rolled around he automatically gave the proper dialog with no need to zone or relog.

Shipping on the 20th (in the US) means in stores on the 21st.

Going live on the 22nd means going live at 12:00 am JST (or thereabouts, JST anyway). Which is something like 11 am EST on the 21st.

So, it's not that big of a deal and there really won't be a disconnect between the sale and being able to play.

Hmm... not sure. I'm pretty sure they said the "official windower" would need DX9 and that it would be released "in late 2008", but I don't remember them saying that it would be part of WoTG at any point
