The boss really isn't pure luck. It took us like 5 to win, but that was because of unlucky incidents/crappy pull mistakes.

The first time we didn't know where we were going so we took too long and ran out of time.

The second time we still didn't have time down completely and rushed ourselves and it just didn't come together.

Third time we got the boss, but everyone lagged out during the fight because they didn't listen when I told to turn off effects, people froze up from the sudden spawns, including the bard who was supposed to sleep the Malboros. They raped us.

Fourth time a melee engaged too soon even though we set a time for stunners to start, and singlehandedly ruined our entire run which was flawless up til that point.

By the fifth time we worked out all of the kinks, we got the pulls down, people configured their PCs to deal with the lag, and no one screwed up on the megaboss. BRD slept the malboros and the MB died in record time.

I'd say she has around 1/2 of the HP DL that deal does, just dies a hell of a lot faster.

Just a little followup, had this happen last night, right near the start of the fight:

I have filters on, more than just the people listed got charmed. Kept the chainspell stun going and kited people around, and they went uncharmed pretty quickly (which is normal). Beat MB after, farmed the rest of the time and got PLD SMN capes, BLM BST belts, BRD SAM -1 hats, pretty slow farming run.

Our setup survived 2 EBB and still managed to pull out a win. Granted we were very hurt killing the pets afterwards.

If it helps, we do the following. We've beaten Valk each time in 2007 except once where I rushed the group on the pull. Hope this next stuff helps.

Key Jobs
1X PLD (your DRKs will be tanking anyway)
3X RDM/DRK 2 starting then 1 ending (just in case)
1X SV BRD on pets that pop
2X Feint order THF

BLM don't overnuke from the side and are out of range of EBB

We try to go in w/ TP (pull a pack of Sabotenders on the way)
Obviously full rest and just time out the start.

We could probably swap out the BRDs to make the zerg even more devastating (we do that impromptu already but nothing formal)
