wasn't a TV show, it was a movie. pretty sure there was some sort of undercover cop in the scene as well watching all of that stuff transpire, kinda freaked out about it...oh fuck wait was it Blue Streak?

I remember seeing this device at Medieval Times' torture museum a while back called "The Pear." It was a device that was pear shaped, inserted into an orifice, opened up wide open on the end sticking out, and then swords/sharp objects would be used in a way that you might be able to deduce.

Needless to say, that was the one "non-fatal (usually)" torture devices that just made us kids shudder every time we thought about it... Though, the upside down, two-manned, make-you-do-the-splits, sawing device was.... good lord... not right, even just a little bit... >< I think there was an extremely high death rate with that device. That, or a really high "spilling the beans" rate.
