I don't how the rumor or the idea started that Dr.Paul is somehow favoring corporations.

    It's just plain wrong.

Essentially, should Dr.Paul win, Income tax will only be applicable to corporations with few minor exceptions.
NAFTA and it's equivalents will be abolished, and tariff's would be raised, this coupled with responsible fiscal policies would not only (in theory) strengthen dollar value, but return millions of jobs back to Americans. Aka, you can do groceries for the week with 20 bucks... assuming America has enough gold reserves, we might go back to a gold standard...which I doubt. Fort Knox bullion reserves are probably none existent.

This is good for business, but not exactly good for CEOs and Speculators. But fuck them, they had their fun.

Also, i'm not sure to the degree of his opposition to Federal Reserve and Banking in general. Will go as far as not only eliminate the fed, but fractional reserve banking policies as well? If so, 0.o

Also not exactly a true libertarian free market, intellectual property rights and government compliances still exist and are not going anywhere, but you get my drift.

I was kinda into the whole ron paul thing for like a day, and then I came to realize he is just another republican. What I don't get, is why droves of people that discover him on the net (Whom I thought where largely liberal) are the primary supporters of him.

    - Dissolve the FDA and let drug corporations take care of labeling, regulation, and distribution of their own addictive drugs.
    - Eliminate the IRS the day he assumes office, and eradicate all federal income tax and income tax returns. The thousands of dollars in Child Tax Credits annually given to single parents will be lost the first year. All corporations will instantly stop reporting and tracking their income and payroll to the Federal Government.
    - Allow prayer in schools. He actually co-sponsored AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION called “The Prayer in Schools Amendment”
    - Forcing the United States to return to the Gold Standard of currency, a complete joke in today’s global economy.
    - Eliminate all federal social services, and make Social Security voluntary.
    - Crush Net Neutrality. Ron Paul voted against the Net Neutrality bill, which is consistent with his belief that huge corporations should operate with no restrictions whatsoever.
    - Overturn Roe vs. Wade, the court decision that made abortion legal.

Why should prayer in schools not be allowed?
Why should social security be mandatory?

This country was founded on the basis that you were free to do anything you wanted, as long as it didn't infringe on the human rights of another. As of now the government does so much more than what was initially wanted by the founding fathers, it's a huge part of everyones lives, and that's not what they wanted, they wanted freedom.

Nothing is stopping students from praying in school now. All his amendment would do is make the school set aside time specifically for praying.

If you don’t like social security shouldn’t you try to fix it, rather than just killing the whole thing (which is what making it optional would do)? It isn’t some evil conspiracy to take your money; it has pure intentions, and does help millions of people.

Our founding fathers lived in a different time. Things have to change, and what the government does now for those less fortunate, while it may not mean much to selfish libertarians, is necessary.

I want nothing to do with social security, I'd rather be able to use and take care of the money I make the way I want to. Nothing except making it optional fixes that for me.

Things have to change...like the principles this country was founded on? I don't think I can go along with that. You can call me a selfish libertarian all you want, but considering my parents are nothing above middle class and I'm currently not aiming to be any higher with my income I don't quite see how that fits. I want to be able to keep what I earn, whether that be a lot or a little, and use it how I want.

With technology these days we should be able to have a country even closer to the vision of our founding fathers, we shouldn't be getting farther and farther from it.

Do you take public roads to work? Do you ever use public transportation?

You can probably make a pretty lengthy list of government services you use and obviously take for granted.

Also, I think you missed my point about the whole "times change" thing. We have a pretty serious poverty problem in the US, and I'm no history buff or anything but I am pretty sure problems like modern poverty and todays necessary government services where not a consideration.

You are also avoiding a lot of the problems with "Dr. Paul" (I think the Paul Zealots making sure to add Dr is comical). I'll go out on a limb here and say you are for net neutrality, for example.

There are some things the government is useful for, I'm not an advocate of anarchy, just limited government. I believe things like public transportation and roads should be a city and state legislation, not a federal one. I'm all for strong state governments, they can have the right to vary between far left and far right in law, just get all that away from a federal government. The longer the chain the less it's able to adapt to situations, and having the majority of power and services in the hands of the states allows each state to flourish in the way that it wishes and can better serve the wishes of the people living there.

What government services are "necessary"? In what way are services like medicare, medicaid and social security "necessary"? Don't they add up to be like half of our national debt? Sure is great having those "necessary" services.

We're called the "Land of the free" but more and more both parties are turning us into being just like all the other countries, Ron Paul will point us back in the direction of being free.

They are not necessary for you, but for others they are.

You are ignoring the rest of his stances. I know the whole "I get to do what I want with a portion of my money, instead of using it to make our country a better place." thing sounds great to you right now, but it just will not work.

I'm really not worried about him even being nominated for president. Its pretty obvious to me, that Clinton will be the next prez, and honestly I'm looking foward to it.

Yeah the government sure knows how to spend your money. Here's a quick list of some shining examples:

When did this whole "you owes me" culture come about (lolFDR anyone)? FDR is a whole other subject to me, was a great idea at the time, was not envisioned to last this long. Honestly, I'm all for government programs that work, but the track record says most do not. That being said, Ron is a radical, I don't agree with him when it comes to dissolving all the departments that he wants to. For instance the FBI, CIA, DOT etc... Even though most (if not every) agency is full of corruption; it's only human nature. On paper communism and socialism are great ideas, but when applied they fail horribly.

What upsets me about the education system is that so poorly run. It should be taken out of the hands of the states(and their often corrupt offices) and a national standard. All public schools materials should always bought in the interest of saving money. I've personally witness a school board buying old(Windows 98) and used PCs for the almost twice the price you can get a new one. Why? Because the people incharge were paid for doing so. This is completely legal.

There's simply nothing "great" about stealing from the best in our society and giving it to the worst, whether or paper or in real life.

Is paris hilton better than that single mother working two jobs just to try to afford food, housing, and healthcare?

    Really?

Does the fact that Paris Hilton has money in any way affect what the single mother has or could have? In a capitalist society the cream will rise to the top and those who inherit money without the ability to maintain it will lose it.

Little bit of sarcasm mixed with knowing for some people it may seem like a great idea. :s

Do you honestly THINK that or are you just making shit up?

You might think that in theory but you just have to step outside to see how in the majority of cases it's not true. How many rich, spoiled brats inherit six figure incomes and do no kind of work for it? I can name quite a few from my high school. Capitalism is the best system I know of for a lot of things but it sure as hell isn't best for everything.

PS: What makes somebody "Cream of the Crop"?
