Ugh. I started the Colts D over the Chargers D.

And Manning decides to throw 6 picks this week.

    Great.

/me is waiting for all the Detroit haters to get back on their bandwagon, lol.

Lots of teams laid an egg yesterday:
    Colts
    Lions
Vikings (of course, Green Bay has been looking mighty tough, so maybe this is only half of a surprise)

Cleveland couldn't hold on for the upset of Pittsburgh.

Dallas looks like the NFC team to beat. That Giants v. Dallas game was a good contest. Too bad the penalties ruined it for NY.

The NFL must really have it out for the Buffalo Bills. For the past 5-6 seasons the Pats play the Bills coming off of their bye week. The Bills get to play two division rivals two weeks in a row against teams coming off of their bye weeks: the dolphins (and thankfully the Bills won), and the Patriots.

The Chargers beat the Colts last night.

The Vikings raped the Chargers last week.

The Packers shut out the Vikings this week.

Now we use the transitive property:

The Packers shut out the Colts last night... or could have. Honestly at this point I think the Packers only worry should be NE in the Super Bowl. If they keep playing the way they've been playing then they'll beat the Cowboys 27-14 in a couple weeks, and should have no trouble rolling over them in the playoffs again.

And the Bears beat the Packers. Bears must be going to the Superbowl!

GB has potential, I believe they are the team that will be competing with Dallas for the NFC championship. It's silly to think that they have it locked up though.

I didn't like how the Giants played in the 2nd half against the boys. However, I still like them over GB in the playoffs. Mainly because they lineup 4 pass rushers everytime the apposing team is in a passing situation, which is every down for GB. lol.

GB has a rushing game now... well, maybe. If Grant can keep this up then I think GB is unstoppable in the NFC.

While...um...I think it's premature to say "Packers own the NFC", now that Green Bay finally has a starting running back in Ryan Grant, who did rush for 119 yards against a Vikings defense who hasn't given up a 100 yard rusher all season, it does appear they are forming an effective running game.

    edit: aye, yeh beat meh.

To be honest though, I don't think Grant had a very good game at all. He got the bulk of his yards in one drive and the bulk of those yards in only a couple of plays. I think he may have just hit a couple of lucky holes. Because I mean, he ran for what, 93 yards in the first half? And then only got 25 or so more for the rest of the game? Seems like he just got a bit lucky to me, but I guess we'll find out next week.

While I don't think Grant is exceptionally skilled necessarily, I like his approach to running for Green Bay. Take the ball, hit the hole as fast as you can, and keep running forwards til you get tackled. He doesn't dance around, he's not fancy, he's just straight-ahead. He's not the type of guy that's going to get many negative-yardage plays, and with even decent blocking he can get a 4-yard per carry average with little problem. Brandon Jackson (who doesn't impress me much) got all the carries after 8 mins left in the 4th quarter, but yeah Grant was 15 carries for only 27 yards in the 2nd half.

He had 49 yards in the first drive (including a 30 yard TD run) and 39 in the 2nd drive (which ended in a punt).

My point exactly. Outside of those two drives he was a pretty subpar running back.

Or he was just playing against the best rushing defense in the NFL (at the time, #3 now), in increasingly more likely rushing downs (as Green Bay's score climbed).

True. So I suppose I can't discount him for his second half performance, as they were playing the Vikings, but I definitely won't give him undue praise and confidence.

    Re: NFL Week 10 Picks

Only thing about Dallas is that Green Bay can't seem to shut down passing games very well, especially when it comes down to covering TE's... Hopefully the Packers front 3.5 can handle the run and allow for more help in the secondary, otherwise Romo will light them up.

Then again I don't think Dallas has a shot at shutting down Green Bays passing game. I think if Grant can manage 80-100 yards a game and Favre can manage to throw less then 2 INT's a game there's really no NFC team that could beat them. Thing is that if Grant can't manage 80 yards and Favre throws the INT's there's no team in the NFC that couldn't beat them.

packers wont do much passing against cowboys, now that their 2 starting CBs are back, they can blitz more and put more pressure on the QB (see sunday, 5 sacks), farve will throw 2-3 INT, cowboys will make them one dimensional and rely on the rush too much which is gonna cost them the game

In which dream of yours? My predictions: Favre sacked 3 or less times. Favre throws for 250+ yds, 3+ TDs, 2 INTs. Grant runs for 80 yds. Romo has 200 yds, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, and a fumble. Packers win the special teams game. Packers victory 27-14. Cowboys may hit a field goal or two, who knows... I'm also pulling all these numbers out of my ass, just my predictions.
