Dynamis-Xarcabard and soloing

So I've been checking up on avesta lately, and he apparently soloed Marquis Orias (BLM NM) RDM/NIN by getting shadows up to buy him time while casting Bio2&Poison2, dying, then reraising up again and repeating until dead. I'm suspecting he did this solo before the double-weakness update, and to be honest I don't know if Bio2&Poison2 will stick while double-weakened, it just seems pretty unlikely to me.

I just wanted to know if this is possible to do on Duke Berith (RDM NM) aswell, or if he has some special characteristics that make him especially hard to solo this way.

Bio is like Dia in that it can never be resisted.

And although I don't have any mage jobs, I was under the impression weakness had nothing to do with magic accuracy.

IIRC, Avesta solo'd his RDM hat too using a similar strategy... Although this was before the double weakened nerf.

But, I'm pretty certain you can land at least even Bio while double weak.

spells dont get resisted during double weak, they just do 0 damage (direct damage, dot still applies).

that said, anyone who can afford to spend 1mil on a small chance at one piece of af in todays economy has way too much money and should send some to me.

I don't think RDM NM can be soloed in that manner since he cures himself.
And even when doing this Bio method, you have to use some careful timing so it doesn't die unclaimed.

All dots are still landable while double weakened, you can prolly solo any of the xarc NMs using this method if you want to lose tons of xp and gil at a small chance at an AF2. There is a video of a RDM soloing the Puk ISNM with this method on Stage 6 somewhere if you want to see how it works. The last 1-2% you should prolly nuke it down as well, to avoid it going unclaimed.

On NIN, you can easily kite any casting demon NM endlessly. I've even done it with 3 eyes on me for like ten minutes when a sac pull got screwed up. It might be a little bit trickier for RDM, but given how easy it is for NIN I'd think it's doable.

cant really get them by themselves with any consistancy though, and you certainly cant kite 3 demon nms and 3 eyes..

Bio can be flat all out resisted (ala magic shield) , but even if it lands for 0 it will still do DoT.

In his video for Orias, doesn't it die unclaimed (and he still gets the drops?) From what I remember he throws on one last Bio at < 1%, goes behind the podium, stands there and targets him, then the target disappears and you see the drops appear in the log. Maybe Dynamis works differently since any of the 64 people in zone can lot, etc?

How would you avoid him dying unclaimed if you're soloing, anyway? You're way past being double weakened by that point so all nukes would do 0, and waiting for weakness to wear would mean the NM would regen. Even if the inital damage from Bio doesn't do 0 (which it probably would), it's at most like...7 damage. You'd have to be pretty lucky to get a killshot with that :X

We had a Dynamis Lord once that snuck a WTF-Pwn-Smash through at 1~2% HP. He killed off the majority of the melee/mages, and died unclaimed so we got no drops.

IMO, my LS talked with a GM for some time about not getting drops...but honestly I wasn't shocked because thats what happens when normal mobs go unclaimed. However this video with Avesta does bring up some wierd points. I would assume Avesta had it claimed when it died, or nothing would a gone to him/treasure pool right?

Idk, this is what one of the members of the shell talked with the GM about. It does seem odd though that Dynamis Mobs, if they died unclaimed wouldn't drop anything to the treasure pool, but mobs go red/yellow in dynamis depending on who sleepga's what anyway...idk...I still think DL should a dropped something... >.<

like I said, I don't really follow why it didn't but it didn't really seem too off to me. Just thought I'd add a weird experience, lol. I did think DL was guarenteed to drop a 100 though till you said that...I haven't really seen a screen of "nothing" off DL. Just people going "Orz, only a 100byne no dorps" >.<

Idk though, i don't see mobs die unclaimed too much in Dynamis...or ever...aside from that DL, so i'd say it'd need tested

we got 0 drops at all from DL before. he just has a somewhat high droprate.

1:43 throws on his last DoT, making his name red for a bit
1:44 - 2:53: dies, gets up and keeps Orias targetted (yellow)
2:54 loses target (so I assume Orias dies) and drops appear in the log

So maybe you got a no-drop DL or that DL is different from other mobs because he's a boss? I was gonna suggest that someone tries to finish off a city mob with DoT somehow, but city mobs aren't guaranteed to drop

My shell's seen 3 no-drop DL's. It's just really damn rare. Idea is that the ring/mantle are the (obviously) rarer and randomer drops, and 100 pieces are 33% jade, 33% silver, 33% byne, and 1% nothing.

Sucks that way sometimes .___.
