All Worlds Maintenance (Nov. 12)



At the following time, we will be performing FINAL FANTASY XI maintenance on all worlds. During this period, FINAL FANTASY XI will be unavailable.

All characters who apply for the world emigration on Odin World between Nov. 1, 2007 1:00 (PDT) through Nov. 12, 2007 7:00 (PST) will be transferred to their destination worlds during this maintenance.

All items up for auction and in your Delivery Box will be lost when you emigrate. Please collect these items before moving. Any items in your inventory and Mog Safe will be transported with you to the new world.

Please refer to "Applying for Odin World Emigration (Nov. 1)" news announcement for important reminders about the world emigration.

* From 30 minutes before the start of maintenance until the end of maintenance, applications for World Transfer Service will be unavailable.

* From the start of maintenance until the end of maintenance, applications for Return Home to Vana'diel campaign will be unavailable.

"Wings of the Goddess" Version Update (Nov. 13)


On Nov. 20, 2007, the FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion disc will be shipped.

Due to the number of new features included in this expansion, an update of the game will be required for all players (even those who have not installed the expansion). The preparatory version update for the FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion disc will be performed on the following date.

FINAL FANTASY XI gameplay will not be interrupted during this update as there will be no server maintenance conducted at this time.

Also, additional preparatory server maintenance is scheduled to be performed on Nov. 19, 2007. Details on this maintenance will be announced in the "Information" section.

The new features for FINAL FANTASY XI: Wings of the Goddess expansion will become available sometime on Nov. 21, 2007.

This seems rather interesting...so they're doing an update before the actual use of said update is needed so it won't interupt normal gameplay time? I am kind of shocked & impressed that SE would actually do something that doesn't completely inconvience everyone...Although it does say nothing drastic will change in game, idk.

It sounds identical to the POL-Updates they always do, that start the next time you run FFXI. I wonder if this will reduce the people who always complain about not being able to DL the update. Even though I personally have never had an issue >.> *crosses fingers*

Wut? Youre acting like theyve never done this before, they just did it the other day. It's the same thing, except this time theyre just updating the client, instead of adding things. They did this last expansion too. Since this update is a version update, it's most likely needed before the game is even installed, so thats why they are doing in now and instead of after or during the expansion d/l update.
