I'll just post here an slightly shortened version of what I posted on my LS forums for reference.
From - http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?f ... 553;page=1Q: Do multiple instances of Treasure Hunter in a single party increase the chances of a drop? When exactly does the effect of Treasure Hunter take place?
A: When more than one member has Treasure Hunter, the player with the strongest version will have theirs take effect for the party. The effect comes into play as soon as the Thief generates enmity from the target enemy. Even if the Thief dies, the effect remains.
From - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25584&start=120More junk you already saw but is explained better
* When there are multiple instances of Treasure Hunter in a party, the strongest effect is used. Treasure Hunter goes into effect the moment the Thief actively puts their self on the target's hate list. For the most part, once the Thief attacks a monster, they remember the effect of Treasure Hunter. If a Thief dies, they do not have to be Raised to strike the monster once again. However, if you lose possession of the monster and they regenerate back to full health, this information is lost.

How does Treasure Hunter effect drops in battlefieds, dynamis, chest contents.
No effect on chests.
Same effect in dynamis etc. as elsewhere.
For TH to be active THF must perform an action on the target. Does not have to be killing strike.
The understanding of how TH works has increased. Still, a lot of how it works remains in the dark. Knowing how precisely TH works is important because it means the difference between needing one thief for dynamis (possibly), one thief per alliance, one thief per party, or multiple thieves per party.
Since these notes began being released a few weeks ago, it's been revealed that stacking TH within a party does nothing (something that was already not in common practice). However, many are interpreting these notes to mean a few things, namely the most common theories being that 1.TH is much like a debuff, and 2.Thusly, only one thief is necessary in the alliance, and possibly only one per dynamis assuming they were to strike every mob.
I think that the SE commentaries on TH in the past few weeks have made the debuff theory, and what follows from it, to be increasingly more convincing. The idea of TH acting like a debuff is still new and hasn't been proven, and likewise it may be the case, even if it does act like a debuff, that TH in multiple parties/alliances does in fact continue to increase drop-rates.
Right now, a person on our server has been doing some TH testing, which can be seen here, and here. In my free time I've been going with Shulula and testing TH0+TH2 2x 1 person parties vs TH2+TH2 2x 1 person parties, to try and see if we can come to a supported conclusion on the debate. If/when we finish, I'll post what we found.
I'm a little concerned that these new ideas on debuff and spreading throughout the alliance(s) are correct, but until there's definitive evidence for it, I think that the best thing to do for events is to bring multiple thieves just in case. However, even if it turns out to be the case that these new hypotheses are true, it'll still be a good idea to bring more than one thief to dynamis for a few different reasons, that is to have backup puller(s) and to make it easier to stick TH on every mob.
How is it the exception? The drops come directly from Bahamut like any other HNM, so TH would effect it, no?Originally Posted by Maxxthepenguin

exception being that they(Bv2 and Ouryu) are BCs maybe?
I don't really know why it's an exception if the drops are coming off the mob >_> I kind of took it as "Chest + TH = No" because I can't think of a BCNM that doesn't have a chest at the endOriginally Posted by aceofspades

DEAL WITH IT
Sorry about going off topic but is there a link to the full Q&A? I tried clicking that link in an earlier post and it brought me to an empti otherwiki page
Try now I might of messed it up earlierOriginally Posted by XxSlusherxx
I see someone already got to the chests things. Well this is not relevant to TH but relevant to drops, so I'll post it -So no more bothering with the signet thing whenever it comes up. For those that don't know about luck items, they are (I think the only three ones that were rumored by some to enhance drops), Wild Rarab Tail, 4-leaf Mandragora Bud, and Lucky Egg. Lucky Egg was always the one that brought more speculation than the other two. Some old tests showed that it had an effect on drops. Now we know for 100% that that test was false. When fighting with signet,
10 items total can be dropped. Items drop first then crystals. So don't need to turn off signet.

Do the luck items have any effect on drops and do they have to be consumed?
There is no hidden effects programed for these items. But there is no program for luck.
A THF friend and I did some testing this Sunday past using Gilfinder as a proxy (Of course assuming that Gilfinder is "set" on the mob much like Treasure Hunter. I can think of no reason why this would be different). I know it's just confirming what's been said, but I figured I'd share with the group our results.
Basically, the THF has to act against the mob in such a way that would have claimed the mob if it had been unclaimed. This means that /healing will not stick TH on the mob. Just having enmity/hate on the mob will not stick Treasure Hunter/Gilfinder.
We tried the following tests:
THF /heals and mob starts attacking. No TH on mob.
THF /heals after mob has been attacked. No TH on mob.
THF uses Warcry/Protectra/Protect/Cure on attacker. No TH on mob.
THF casts Cure on mob. No TH on mob.
THF attacks mob/uses Provoke/Steal/Mug/etc. TH on mob.
THF uses Sleepga. TH on mob, TH on mob that wasn't the target of Sleepga but was hit with AoE.
THF not in party engages mob attacks and disengages, mob claimed and killed by someone else. TH on mob.
Anyway hopefully this may clear up some misconceptions.

Just for clarification. The gilfinder effect was present on a monster that was hit by sleepga, not claimed by the THF, and killed by a 2nd person outside of party, correct?TH on mob, TH on mob that wasn't the target of Sleepga but was hit with AoE.
Gilfinder was on a monster hit by sleepga, not claimed by THF and killed by someone in the same party, THF did nothing else to the mob. If I can drag my friend out again we can test this, but I believe that Gilfinder will be on the mob whether someone in the party or outside the party kills this as per the test where my friend lost claim and I killed from outside.Originally Posted by Popsiclestick

Yeah. We had 6 montionts on an incomplete Dyna-Bastok =) 2 THF/BLMs, 2 other regular THFs.
so after knowing how the TH work abit more, we went to Carmine Dobsonfly,
1 thf pulled with idk... the 2nd Thf Diaga them, after SMN do their things, 4 Sallet dropped, to me this is pretty good drop rate. and if people agrees, this means diagaing definitly works even if they dont turn red to the thf.
