    Whorish monstrocity of plastic

AC power adapter type cannot be determined, your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or higher for best system operation.

Right now, I will not charge. However, my battery will also not decrease. Its in stasis.

How do I fix this? Is it a battery issue or an adapter issue?

Also, this is my second adapter. My first died in March-April, maybe its just another faulty charger?

Could be a motherboard problem, could be an adapter issue. You're plugging it directly in, not through a dock right? Some Dell series have a 65W and a 90W adapter that they can use, but only the 90W will work with a dock.

Sounds like a motherboard problem. Can you test your power supply with another computer, preferably the same or similar model? If it works, you know that there's something wrong internally with your computer. Otherwise, you know you gotta replace the power supply again. This is probably the cheapest/easiest way to determine what the problem is.

Listen to the adapter, if you hear a tweeting sound, it's the AC adapter.

If not, chances are you have a bad ac adapter AND charger board

Theres no way to check the Adapter on another model. This is the only laptop I have, other computer is a regular one that doesn't use adapters. Even if it did, that computer is about 2 years ahead of this one.

The AC adapter doesn't make a noise either.
So its the motherboard I assume? Thats...costly.

is your adapter a dell oem 65w or 90w model?

If you are using a dock you'll need the 90w model from my experience.

I had the same basic problem with a different brand machine recently. Ended up being a problem with the mother board. Its actually a problem in the connection between the battery and the power adapter.
