Soothsayer and Conjugal Burns are my favorite so far...I just like the soft latin jazz with pridgen tearing assholes in the background.

Deloused is amazing mainly due to its introduction of what Cedric & Omar are capable of. I can't say it's the best though, because it was them testing the waters and a lot of their sound was changed. Different producer, different settings, etc. I REALLY enjoy Frances the Mute, and imo consider it their most innovative CD. It's completely raw when you look at it as a whole, not individual songs that make the CD "worth it", aka The Widow. That being said, I'm VERY happy with the new CD. FINALLY THEY GOT THE FUCKING FIRST SONG RIGHT! I was starting to get sick of the build up they always do. Omar noodling... static... background shit... it's cool and all and is amazing material for build up, climatic parts, but Aberinkula is in your face shit. <3 it

Re: The Bedlam in Goliath - The Mars Volta

i feel like they've improved nonstop since at the drive-in split up. i feel like people who claim (without thinking about it) that de-loused is their best album are in denial that at the drive-in broke up. there's no question each album gets better as they go on, my personal opinion is that people who rank frances as the same as this album are the same people who feel ATDI shouldn't have broken up. i'm also some fag who likes nine inch nails better than hell paso, so who cares about what i say. a mighty wind is on comedy central, you'd be a fool not to put it on.

ps: i think he's awesome live, and singing. who the hell could you compare him/their show to?

Wait, what? Mars Volta =/= ATDI, so ranking their first or second CD as your favorite doesn't make you a ATDI fan as much as the other guy. Frances the Mute sounds NOTHING like ATDI, and I personally like it because of the introduction of so many instrumentals and the latin part of Volta (something Deloused was lacking).

Since when does he forget the words? In most cases he adds new lines live, and he'll occasionally stop to emphasize the guitar line (aka singing on the same octave Omar is playing on), but I think that's all interpretation, in-the-moment type of deal. Yes, in ATDI he was absolutely raw, but in Mars Volta he's a lot more refined.

Well he may not actually forget the words but he doesn't say them or is too busy trying to catch his breathe lol. The Day of the Bephomets on the uhh.... One guys show was freakin perfect, because he didn't run around and go crazy. (Which is awesome stage performance, but if it's ganna hinder his abilities to sing then :<)

Oh no, the only album that sounded remotely like ATDI was Tremulant, which would only make sense. But Deloused was their best out of the other amazing CDs they made. The only one I don't like as much is Amput. simply because there's 8 songs or whatever but you only really count 5 since 1 and 8 are lame and asilo's is way to repetitive.
