I'd laugh if I did, because then I'd have a reason to take my dalm off my mannequin.

The strange thing about that is the fact that they have emotional quote attributed with them, yet they are emotionless protectors (killers). Why have a saying, "You will be twisted by the envy that drives you" if you have no representation of either envy, nor the opposite of it. More to the point, I'd like to have seen those quotes play a larger part in the story, besides the "Rage of the Galka" being partly responsible for Raogrimm's demise. If they are being that are created directly by the crystal to just protect the crystal, they have no need for free will or emotions, since obviously at that point they'd be prone to corruption and may do things that is not the best interest of protecting the crystal.
I wondered the same, but I eventually wrote it off as SE knowing that it would be better for us to fight against them, then for them to aid us. We wouldn't be able to see enough of what they could do if they were but simple NPCs that assisted us in fights. For example, look at Gessho when he fought against you, vs. when he allied with you. He used a few more tricks when he was the opponent, rather than the ally. However, that brings up a point on how they'd end up doing Eald'narche's bidding in RoZ...I guess you could say him trying to reunite all the crystal back to the original 1 mothercrystal and recreate the realm of the celestial avatars and other gods isn't exactly harmful to the crystal.
Seriously -- you'd think Altana would have the ability to sense the fact that we adventurers mean no harm. The hot mithra should have been on my side, not against it.Though I'd like to believe that the Crystal Warriors were created by Altana to prevent such catastrophe from happening to begin with...
